Beno Blames Coaching for 17-win Season

In an interview with Beno Udrih by Tom Ziller for Fanhouse NBA on Kings Media Day, Beno was quite direct on his view of the past season. I agree with his assessment and his view that he and Sergio are the two true PG's on the Kings and that Tyreke (in so many words) is "The Guard".

I must have read that differently. I got the sense that while Beno was disgusted with last year's coaching and he doesn't believe he just has to "give up" the starting PG position. Good for him if he actually wants to fight for the job. His opinion on Tyreke doesn't seem to be anything more than was hasn't been said before - he's not bashing Tyreke, just saying that he's not a "pure point guard." Can anyone disagree with that statement?

And that has to do with Beno how? An untradeable KT was a necessary part of getting rid of CWebb.

I've yet to hear a single person in the Kings organization from coaches, owners, players, 'ol Jerry Reynolds, etc. even hint that Tyreke Evans is a pure point, true point, or lead guard. They hope he might one of these days (years) develop those hard to acquire skills at NBA level but in the meantime the 19-year-old rookie is looking to earn his minutes as a 6'5" combo guard swingman type.

They haven't "called" him a "pure" point guard, but they've plainly said that PG is the position they are expecting him to play.

Time to grow up Beno, everywhere you go its always coaches fault.
