Bee: Kings make offer to Wells...

I would love that, please, please take Saras.

Comparing Aj today to the AJ the Kings had before is not a fair comparison, not at all. Look what AJ did to Jason Kidd in this years playoffs.

But please take Saras, that would make my summer

I was being sarcastic.:)

What if, just saying, but what if we were interested in Claxton as the REPLACEMENT for Bibby rather than his backup? Last time Muss coached him he turned Speedy into a part time starter, and the year after Muss left he started the first half of the season with Golden State and put up 13pts 6ast 1.9stl. I have no idea what that would mean for Mike, but it would have to be something major.

Shhhhh!

I like Claxton. Hell, the fact that his name is Speedy is reason enough for me to want to root for him ("Go Speedy!" -- it's just fun). But, not INSTEAD OF Mike.

Yeah, along with that, AJ's good.

No on Saras. :p

Bulls vs. Pistons: Ben has 2 offers

Detroit offers $48M; Chicago starts higher

July 3, 2006

BY KRISTA JAHNKE

FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER

As other NBA free agents came to quick conclusions and signed new contracts over the weekend, Ben Wallace pondered the two deals on his plate and waited to see if others would top it.

The Pistons have offered a four-year deal worth approximately $48 million to keep their defensive-minded center in Detroit. And the Chicago Bulls, who sent coach Scott Skiles and vice president of basketball operations John Paxson to Detroit, have started bidding at closer to $52 million for four seasons.

Wallace is an unrestricted free agent and can verbally agree to a deal at any time, but he can't sign a contract until July 12 at the earliest.

Only four teams -- Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte and Toronto -- have the salary-cap space to target Wallace without arranging a sign-and-trade. Of those, only Chicago has shown real interest to this point.

Any team can try to acquire Wallace through a sign-and-trade, and the Philadelphia 76ers' Web site reported Saturday that the team called his agent, Arn Tellem.

The Pistons, meanwhile, also have placed calls to William Phillips, the Detroit-based agent who represents Sacramento shooting guard Bonzi Wells. Although Wallace is the team's primary concern, Wells also is high on Detroit's summer shopping list.

Wells dominated the Kings' series against San Antonio in the playoffs, a showing that might have raised his worth around the league.

He reportedly wants a deal for five years starting near $8 million a season, a figure the Pistons might not be willing to pay, especially since Wells would come off the bench. But he fits the profile of one of their primary needs -- a scorer who can slash and attack defenses off the dribble.

The Sacramento Bee reported Sunday that general manager Geoff Petrie started the bidding for Wells at something more than the roughly $5-million trade exception. The Denver Nuggets are a
lso high on Wells.

Well looks like Bonzi is asking for some pretty big bucks.

8 million average? Is that what its saying? If so I think that is pretty dang fair.

^^ Unless we could get them to take KT along with Bonzi. What about this:

Bonzi
KT

for

Foster
Harrison
Johnson
Croshere

That might be asking too much though...and I may be getting in to 'personnel moves' territory too. :)

I'd be fine with that..., even without Croshere or Johnson in there. KT could become a cancer for them though if he doesn't start. JO would ahve to play C.

Danny Granger is the only player that any team would want from the Pacers. Everyone else is questionable for several reasons.

Oh come now

For various reasons, AJ, Fred, Cro, Foster and Harrison all have trade value. If Bonzi decides he wants to come home and play for the Pacers, and you are going to lose him, are you saying you wouldn't want AJ and Foster. If you are, then I think you are wrong. Foster would be very nice for the Kings, very nice.

I agree. You at least get 2 or 3 nice players back, and a young intriguing big in Harrison who showed something several times last season.

Better than having him walk off for nothing.

AJ already played for the Kings and we have Jason Hart and have no clue what to do with him

Fred - we already have too many shooting guards as it is

Cro - dumping salary would be interesting but we are trying to get more athletic and not less. Also Cro is a walking injury and we have way too much of our own

Foster - frontline Foster & Miller:eek: We need a shot blocker at 4 or get rid of Brad

Harrison - has potential but hasn't proven himself yet

Bottom line is that Pacers don't really have much to offer (if they offer Granger - they should be shot) unless Bonzi really wants to go to Pacers and leaves us no choice.

We still haven't recovered from Webber trade. We need a PG and a big athletic man. They need to be proven. I somehow fear that if we lose Bonzi and gtart losing games like the last season - Ron might go Ron.

All in all nice try. I hope You aren't selling car's for living;)

Well who do you want Wade and Lebron. Wow, you are expecting the moon

Well, he never said anything about the Kings. Brick stated ANY team. The Kings may have no use for many of them, but I'm sure there are some teams out there that could use some of those guys.

why in the hell would u want that trade in the first place? bonzi better not leave or be traded. He is coming into a place where the starting spot is guaranteed and playoffs are almost guaranteed also. If anyone should be traded, trade miller and kt for tyson chandler

I like Harrison and Foster. Clearing KT's contract for an expiring one. It gets us some decent bigs... It's not that bad!

I agree ^

I sure hope Bonzi comes back, but if not, not too big of a deal. Kevin Martin seems to be on a rise, and I'm very happy about the Kings building around young and defensive minded players.

Would be awesome to see Francisco, Kevin and Quincy play together at the same time. :)

The Kings simply don't need a bunch of relatively good players. They need a major player. If we trade Bonzi and Yhomas, the Kings will probably end up 29th in the Conference in rebounding. I am still holding out hope that Cuban fires Dirk or Garnett comes in under the radar. Short of that quality, why not hold the pat hand.
