A passing remark
At different times in their careers, new Kings Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Bonzi Wells have played the one-man game to perfection. While both can be phenomenal scorers, one question when they were signed in the offseason was how they'd fit into the Kings' pass-heavy system.
So far, said Kings president of basketball operations Geoff Petrie, they're getting more than a passing grade.
"Bonzi and Shareef are scoring on that block, and they've both shown pretty good all-around game on top of that," Petrie said. "They've both been real willing passers."
Nash, as in 'cash'
Shooting guard Wells had a front-row seat to greatness against Phoenix, watching Suns point guard Steve Nash dominate while Wells took the night off.
With three sons of his own, Wells said Nash is the sort of player he wants his kids to emulate on the court. "In my era, I would give my kids tapes on a guy like Nash, a guy like (Kings point guard) Mike (Bibby), who aren't the most athletic but they're traditional point guards," Wells said. "Nash is just ... MVP. You can't say anything else."
