24 Seconds with Justin Williams
Last Updated 12:59 am PDT Sunday, October 8, 2006

Position: Center
Height: 6-foot-10
NBA seasons: Rookie
College and stats: Wyoming -- Averaged 10.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.2 blocked shots.
Collegiate notable: All-time shot blocker in Mountain West Conference with 244 in two seasons.

Q&A
Q: What can you bring the Kings?
A: Tenacious defense, great shot blocking and rebounding, and I play real hard.

Q: How hard was it to watch the draft unfold and your name not be called?
A: It was very disappointing. All the mock drafts had me getting drafted, some in the first round. When the second round came, that's when I got really nervous. But it's not the worst-case scenario for me.

Q: What does one do in Wyoming when there's 10 feet of snow outside?
A: Go to the gym (laughing). And a lot of video games.

Q: Favorite player growing up?
A: Michael Jordan. And Michigan. I was a big fan. I can't believe Mo Taylor is with us now. Watched him all the time.

Q: You have a twin brother?
A: Yes, Jason. We're very close. If I stick with the Kings, I'm going to bring him out.

Q: Worst part of being a twin?
A: When we were younger, our mother dressed us alike. We grew to have our own identities.

^^He was simply answering a question. I'm pretty sure he's a lot more aware of it being real life than you are.

Man I hope this guy makes the team. This guy could be the best shotblocker the Kings have ever had and could become one of the premier ones of the NBA. Plus he seems like he can rebound the ball very well and is very athletic to boot.

That's what makes this upcoming season interesting. We don't know how things will shake out with Musselman's coaching philosophy, and he may end up getting a solid 5-10 minutes a game. This kid may not have even had a whiff w/ Adelman. Not a knock, just pointing out the different styles.

I have family that lives in Casper. They know I am a Kings fan and were really excited when we picked him up. I am told that he will make a great contribution. I am more excited about Amundson though.

I wish we had more roster spots open.. it looks like a lot of these young guys are going to be caught in the numbers game. I wonder if the front office would be willing to cut some of the older guys with bigger contracts to make room for these younger guys, assuming that they are the better fit for the team...

Agreed. Guys like Hart, and Potapenko aren't going to get any time on this team. Might as well send them packing and able to sign somewhere else. At least the roster spot will be open. I would rather young guys be at the end of the bench than the old guys that we already know suck.

Seriously. People are always saying stuff like; we havent even seen these guys play! We need to stick with vets! Blah blah blah...

At the very WORST Amundson and/or Williams would probably bring what Potatoe gives us on a good day.
