How about this trade idea.

Brad Miller, Quincy Douby OUT

Rasheed Wallace IN

Start Spencer at the 5, Sheed, 4, Artest 3, kevin 2, PG tbd.

Then find a way to part ways with Moore or keep him for one heck of a over priced back up.

Rasheed Wallace is 34 years old. Not to mention a rather extraordinarily overrated player at this point in his career (actually for most of his career). 13pts 7rebs? No thx.

Its a 1 year risk if i does not work out CAP room. Not to mention the much better D all around.

Brads stats this year are comparable and for the rebounding department dont forget detroit is a great at team rebounding

PPG 13.5 RPG 9.50

oh no, not that excuse again. That excuse has been tattooed to Sheed's *** for his entire career. It was the same thing in Portland -- they are such great rebounders that poor lil Sheedy Weedy can't grab any boards. He averages 6.9rebs a game over his 12 year career. He is simply a patheitc rebounder. Always has been.

That's a sidebar to the major issue -- he is old. And a tad nutty. Not what this team needs.

I would not be dead set on Sheed there are other options, still we never know how it will work out unless we try something. Miller is not going to be getting any better anytime soon. A side note is Elton Brand has not made a commitment to the Clips.

Although brad may be helping Hawes grow as a player i think if we could get a 1st round pick, a more promising young player, or get rid of Kenny Thomas or SAR.... i would like him to be traded.

But no way for Sheed

What do people see in Rasheed Wallace?? He's overrated, and always has been. Plus he's been a cancer in the past. I want Miller traded, but not for Wallace

The reason i mentioned him first is he has an expiring contract. Totally open to other options.

I think we may be able to get a bit more for B-rad. Petrie is probably wanting picks and expirings and/or a young player with upside. I think he may be able to pull something like that off in the offseason with Brad's play this last season

Both teams wouldnt want that. Personally Id rather see Miller through his entire contract then have another nut on our team.

Sheed isn't overrated. He is very talented. His problem has always been a lack of drive and motivation. In other words, he's lazy and often uninterested on the court. The only way he plays hard is when he's pissed off.

Some of you have some patience Miller can be traded off for a real superstar.

I seriously doubt we can get a superstar for Brad. I'm sort of tired of the term superstar anyway. Its a term thats used a little too loosely. However, I do think we could get more than Wallace for him. I wouldn't want Wallace. As Bricky said, he's 34 yrs old and has never lived up to his press clippings.
There aren't that many good centers out there anymore. Shaq is at the end of his career. Olden may be the next great center in the west, but who really knows. Hawes shows promise. Kaman is pretty good. Camby is getting up there in age. Yao Ming is probably the best in the west and Howard is probably the best in the east.

My point is that Miller is a pretty good center when compared with the rest of the field. At least this year. Which is why it might be a good off season to trade him. Who knows what next year holds. If you can get some value for him, then keeping him around just to be a mentor to Hawes is an expensive luxury.

The Pistons wouldn't give up Sheed for that. No way. They'd give you Dice, for sure, but not Sheed. I wouldn't mind seeing Walter Herrmann on the Kings.

Hence him being overrated. Nobody said he wasn't talented.

How about we trade Miller To the Bulls for Tyrus thomas and some other filler to make the salary match throw in one of our second round picks too to entice em.... since ben wallace was traded they are lacking a center... and a passing center to match hinrich and gordon's shooting is a good combination in return we get a guy with a last nameThomas (that we will love :P)

lol every thomas ive seen int he nba has been a joke... kenny thomas and isiah thomas lol :P they may share some genes some where

There are a number of Teams that Miller would fit in nicely.

Miami for one needs a rebounding 5 really bad and S.A would benefit eminently.

One scenerio that I think could work is Miller/Salmons out and Marion in.

I'm sorry, I just can't let this go by. I think that Isiah is an idiot when it comes to running a team or being a GM. But he was one great player, and certainly doesn't deserve to be paired with Kenny Thomas. Your talking about one of the top 100 players to ever suit up. By the way Kurt Thomas wasn't that bad a player.

I could see Brad to the Pistons, but not for Sheed. It'd be for a combo of Maxiell and Dyess, with Antonio going to a 3rd team (Toronto, perhaps) and the Kings getting expirings alongside Max.

I could also see Brad going to Toronto outright. They've got nearly $13 million in expirings (Rasho, Garbo), the 17th pick, and possibly a spare PG (T.J. Ford.). They could also potentially use Artest or Salmons. I could see a deal being worked out here.

Would be interesting if the Pistons get really close but lose it again these playoffs, and decide to add that 'final piece' even if it means losing a promising young player.

...I'd rather have Amir Johnson then Maxiell though.

I'm not sure who would want him, but his value is high at the moment and his contract is bad for a rebuilding team. I think we should look to move him this summer if we really are serious about rebuilding. I still think he makes tons of sense as a 4 plaing next to Yao, and as Yao depth in case Yao gets hurt again.

If 'Sheed were 20 years old and provably sane, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But I haven't the slightest interest in signing anyone to their pre-retirement contract right now. We have way too many of those already. Not 'Sheed, not Baron Davis, not nobody.

not Baron Davis, not nobody.

Baron playing next to Artest :D :D :D. Like Coach Theus said "we are currently the skinniest team in the league". What better way start to fix that, I hope nellie runs Davis out of town just like he has done with plenty of other stars and GP works his magic.

i agree.... miller/thomas/williams to phx for shaq.... granted all their contract expire the same year but damn... why not?

sure, then we can ship SAR/Mikki Moore/John Salmons to Cleveland for Lebron!

As for why not (since you asked):

1. Kenny Thomas is UNTRADEABLE. Any trade involving Kenny Thomas where we get anyone with a pulse back whose contract is better than Kenny's is fantasy. The only time Kenny Thomas will be tradable will be when his contract is expiring. So hold off on the KT trades for a couple years :P

2. Brad Miller won't net you a starter or star let alone a superstar. He's over 30. He's got a long and large contract. Although he had a bounceback year he has shown questionable passion for the game. He also can be considered a defensive liability. There are places that could use him, yes. All you could hope to get in return would be a draft pick and expirings or perhaps a collection of average talent like the Webber deal. Players that make what Brad makes perform at a much higher level than Brad does.

3. Division rivals generally don't trade.

4. Shaq Just got to the desert and is seeming to fit in well there. Also why would they bring in a guy who doesnt fit their system so they could improve defense and rebounding only to trade him for a guy who doesnt fit their system and makes their defense and rebounding worse?

5. Shaq showed this year he doesn't provide the same effort and intensity level on a loser as he does on a winner.

6. Shaq is old and will provide little to no benefit to a team that is not a contender. By the time the team is a contender he will be too old to help.

My view is if the kings are truly rebuilding and did trade bibby why not move Miller? Even if all that we can get back in return is a few draft picks it would be worth it, Miller is not even being a good mentor to Hawes with his on court behavior so might as well give Spencer the mins.
