**** David Stern, Stew Jackson, and the NBA higher ups as a whole. If I saw either one walk down 5th avenue I'd show them what a real elbow feels like!!!!!

Wow! This just leaves me shocked and disappointed. I agree that it seems as though the league has been looking for ANYTHING in regards to Artest. Sad.

And it looked like Duncan was trying to do the Bump with Artest, but did anyone else notice that it looks like he helped knock Ginobli to the ground with his little hip-check?

Nope, the hip check came after the knock on Ginobili.

We can all agree there's no question that he meant to do it, from how it looks. But the severity of the punishment isn't equal to the act...if anyone besides Ron Artest, or possibly Rasheed Wallace, does that, it's a Flagrant 1 and it's left at that. BOO on the NBA.

Yeah, I think Ginobli running into Duncan made the whole play look worse.

Overall, I think this is ridiculous and have seen WAY worse things go on without reprecussion. Basically, if the back of his jersey didn't say Artest, I don't think he would have been suspended for this play.

I would have been alright with him being fined for it, but suspension? Come on now.

Intentional forearm to the head = suspension. End of story.
That's what they'll say, but I don't think it is that clear cut. This doesn't follow my interpretation of the spirit of that rule.

...And my excitement about the 2006 playoffs shrivels up and dies...

I may just start watching hockey.
I feel ya VF, oh, and btw, if you're gonna watch hockey, might I suggest you start NEXT year, because the best team, Vancouver Canucks, arent in the playoffs right now because...ah nevermind.;) As far as my feelings on that play that got Ron the suspension...FINE worthy yes...SUSPENSION worthy absolutely NOT! If I was the Ron and the Kings, I'd send Ron's doctor bill from the 3 stitches he received to the Spurs organization, along with a tape of the play that Manu elbowed Ron. Before this series started I picked the Spurs to win in 6(even though I hoped I was wrong, of course), now its down to Spurs in 5 after this. Thanks Mr Jackson. :) Oh, so how IS that team in Vancouver doing that you used to run?? Oh yeah...THEY ARENT THERE ANYMORE BECAUSE YOU FAILED MISERABLY IN DOING YOUR JOB!!!

Here comes the Conspiricy again!

Ron Artest must be the strongest man on the planet to put his arm up and send manu to the floor! No matter how many times I have watched this I just do not see enough strength in Rons movements to make for the head whip by Manu!
There is no way Ron was head hunting. I have watched the play now over 100 times and I can tell that Ron was trying to put his arm on Manu to guard him and it lands on his shoulder it rides up because of the sweat of both and gets Manu on the head and Ron pulls it back once this happens realizing what had happened. If I can pick up this small detail why can't the NBA?
This sort of garbage happens all of the time!

I wish you were right. It would be NICE if the NBA ruels for what constute a flagrant 1 and flagrant 2 were nice and clear and if the penelties were nice and clear. But unfortunatly they apear to have been written by attorneys and are there for as clear as Mud. I see a foul, I see a flagrant foul, but unsportsman like behavior (check NBA defination of F2) Can't see it.

Thanks for the clip. The elbow was intentional. No doubt aobut that. Also it showcased Ginobilli's flopping skills as well. This guy is perhaps top the all time best list.

Talking about dirty players. The Spurs seem to have a good collection of them. ;)
watch the play again and see where the elbow starts! It is on his shoulder, No where near trying to go for the head, it slides up the shoulder than gets manu in the head! an intentional hit to the shoulder with an elbow is not an intentional hit to the head!

You might want to view this thread.

It might be cathartic.

That's what it looked like to me to...shoulder first, then up to head. Manu's head really flies back when Duncan rams him .

I really want to be outraged because it sucks to lose Artest, but I've never seen an intentional forearm to the head go without a suspension. Even Kobe got suspended for his elbow on Mike MIller.

I'm really lazy, but this crap with Ron forced me to do this:

NBA stinks!
Even Spurs fans find this extreme: LINK REMOVED - VF21

And yeah, I blame FINLEY!

Ok I took a nap during the second half. Can someone explain to me when this elbow happened, because I didn't see it in the first half.

And let me get this straight?? Artest gets suspended for one game, but Ginobli NAILS Artest in the first play of the gam and nothing. This is World Champion treatment, and a combination of it being Ron Artest.
