Reading this explanation, it's kinda chilling... Reminds me of slave trades in old pirates novel... Selling, buying.... :o

Contract signing millionarie slaves perhaps. ;)

Look at it this way, any NBA "slave" is free to leave their servitude any time they like and walk away leaving the millions on the table.

remember that ESPN analyst who said....play chicken with Bonzi and this is what you end up with....

gotta love those "analysts"

BREAKING NEWS:

Kingsgurl and I have acquired another shipment of seats for the bandwagon, so there's still plenty of room.

:D

Not yet. The bandwagon is still in the shop for service - this is only 5 games. I'll jump on somewhere around game 20 if/when I see consistent performances game in and game out. I'm optimistic, but need to give it time.

Um, I think you are thinking of another BandWagon. Ours has never been in the shop. Perhaps there will still be room for you on that other, obviously not as well built, bandwagon after game 20.:D

About time you weighed in here, Kg.;) :p

BTW - I did not create a category for you. Everyone knows where you stand. In fact, if I am not mistaken, you went out and got all the parts and built the bandwagon, as I recall. :D

I had to be at work at 3 am.
I'm really enjoying the success Kevin is having. He told me "I won't let you down" that first year, and he is living up to that in spades. He's such a nice young man, and he works SO hard, it is great to see it pay off. It's hard to convey what I mean here, but he has such a quiet determination/confidence/drive thing. It was his attitude and something I can't quite put my finger on, an air of 'something special' that I don't know it he even knows he has (not an "I think I am something special" just a presence, I guess you would call it) He didn't really show it on the court that first year, too deferential to the vets, but it's always been there.

I have been on Kevin Martin's bandwagon for at least eight years starting when he was in high school. Great young man. He is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to make himself better. Strong work ethic. Go Kevin! Continue to make ZHS fans proud!

I don't really see Kevin as the same type of scorer as Peja.
Peja was a straight up shooter,Kevin is much more quicker/athletic, people guarding him have to honor his shot, , Kevin is quicker then 80-90 percent of guards out there..once he improves his dribbling he's going to beat alot of guys off the dribble and get alot of points off freethrows. Martins quickness and athletiscism will seperate him from Peja, as the year goes on he will be able to isolate players better.

Do the seats look like this?

Because if so, I'm down like a funky clown.

i love him but im not jumping on the bandwagon just yet... if he is still avg 23 ppg by all star break then count me in... but 5 games into the season.... way too early... i mean, arent the hawks 4-1.....

I am in the minority here and I now like Kevin a lot... honestly at first I didn't like him or his game...and he has completely changed my view of him. Of coursethat is the reason my name is not Petrie. Anyways, if he continues to have a solid year then I will be on the wagon.

On a side note: I am not looking for any little thing to come on here and say he is no good. I think the exact opposite, he has improved dramaticaly the last 2 years, I have nothing but respect for that type of work ethic. I think MIP is within reach for him.

And that right there is why I don't do public polls.

Sorry, Brickie! I do know what you mean. I was just kidding around with a couple of my buddies, namely, piksi and slugking50. I know that neither one of them are into bandwaggoning.

Someone drew my attention to this letter in the Zanesville Times-Recorder:

Kevin Martin a star on and off the court

I am a resident of a small town in northern California, about 80 miles north of Sacramento. I am a huge fan of the Sacramento Kings NBA team, and of course, Kevin Martin from Zanesville.

I hope everyone in your area is as proud of Kevin as we are here in Sacramento. He is the shining light of the Kings.

Everyone agrees that he is as nice and good of a person off the court as well as on the court.

If you could hear the roar of the fans at Arco Arena when the Kings play it would give you a chill. The noise is unbelievable. ... And when Kevin scores, it is more than your ears can handle. I have been a Kings fan for many years, and Kevin is indeed a star. I hope everyone in Zanesville is proud of him. ... He is great.

A Sacramento Kings fan,
Weta J. Berger
Brownsville, Calf.

I thought it was incredible for a couple of reasons. First, the person took the time to write to Kev's hometown paper. Second, Brownsville is up here in my neck of the woods, about 20 minutes down the hill.

:)

This just in... I think we may have to add another car to the end of the bandwagon.

whooooooo!!!

In six games this season, K-mart has already scored more points than he did in his entire rookie season (40+ games played)!
