He shoots the three 30% for his career but last year it was 33% so hopefully it can go up a few points with us but it may be wishful thinking.
Maybe Udoka wanted more $$$ than the mere minimum that we're likely offering?
Over who?My initial reaction to this signing was 'whatever', but after further thought ... he seems a tad too established to come here and sit on the bench. You have to fear a Desmond Mason like situation with him.

Sylven Landesberg signed for Maccabi Haifa from Israel apperently btw. just saw someone mentioned him.
Over who?
In his best years he's enver been more than a 20min 6ppg roleplayer -- Cisco, Omri and Donte have all had better statistical seasons than he has. He's bounced through 5 teams now. He's no more established than anybody he'd be competing with.
Udoka IMHO was a good defender but was a terrible 3-pt shooter for the Kings. At one point he missed every three he tried for 10-15 games and then his % was in the high 20's. Even as a mid range jumpshooter he did not seem all that good.

I'm pretty sure the issue with him is that he cannot hit open shots...if he could it would be a nice pick up.

Have you seen what the guys out there are getting paid? I would have thought people would have been happy about not throwing out another Mikki Moore deal.
And Lin? It's clear the market for him was extremely hot and why on Earth would you ever get into a bidding war over an undrafted rooke guard?

What local talent? You only threw out 1 name (Lin) and that guy was in too much demand for my tastes. That is not really the point or wish of what I was saying. The point is the team seems slow reacting to many available FAs and the SL guard scouting was crap. Why were other teams beating the Kings to getting local talent on their roster?
It's going to be interesting to see what Lin gets paid...
"Lin signed a two-year contract, with the second year a team option. Nearly half of Lin’s 2010 salary, which will be approximately $500,000, is guaranteed."

2 year deal with the second year team option and first year less than half guaranteed? i wouldnt have minded if the kings beat that to get him.
I would have to say they're the same player, but Udoka has more experience and is an infinitely better locker room presence. (Wright spent all of last year calling out his coach (through the media, which makes it worse) and other players in the Toronto locker room.)
But I don't expect production, in the 10 or so minutes Udoka used to get, to drop off.
I suspect our front office and scouting corp could answer your questions quite well.Last year, there was murmurings and discussion about the Kings front office being too small and not active enough in today's NBA world. It was listed for a reason why the Kings gave up the best player in the Houston-Knicks deal and Houston got the biggest return. I wonder if its also why our SL squad was void of a decent guard when there were unisgned guys on other squads that easily outshined the majority of SL guards. Part of the reason we're looking at Wright is because the team doesn't want to waste a lot of cap space on a part-time player, but considering the amount of guys out there in FA and ending up with a guy like Antoine Wright makes me question if theres more of a problem here. Is the front office just being outworked? Is the team taking guys like him and Sloan because desirable players involve more work? Why was the team not looking at Lin when he is a local guy they should have had scouted out?
I see the following rotation and a nearly finalized roster:
Beno/Pooh
Tyreke/Garcia/Wright
Omri/Greene
Landry/JT/Jackson
Dalembert/DMC/Whiteside
AND the Kings are still $16M under the cap!!! Now it becomes a chess game for Coach to find the best match ups for various game situations. Wright and Jackson will be hard pressed to get much playing time unless one becomes a miracle worker. Pooh, on the other hand, could see good time right away and push Beno to better things.
Is Wright better than Udoka?
I don't know Cruz I don't believe Beno starts at PG I believe thats Tyreke all the way. I don't see us having our best 2 pg's in the game at the same time. Also don't see Casspi starting.

The rebounding edge goes to Casspi by a long shot. Greene, for whatever reason is just a poor rebounder. Even against undersized teams. I don't have the stats in front of me but I believe Casspi averaged around 5 boards a game while Greene averaged around 1.5 boards, which is pittiful for a 6'11" player.
