Did we ever find out why Shareef left? I could imagine something like this making a person serious about basketball want to move on.
I believe it was to accept an offer at his alma mater.

There's probably something in the collective bargaining agreement that wouldn't allow us to "relegate" Williams, anyway.
It's as simple as putting DWill on the inactive list.
After all he is virtually there now based on his game work or non-work. 3 fouls in 60 seconds!! Isn't that some sort of record?

Not sure of this, so maybe the Capt can help me, but I believe that if your on an NBA roster, and you have more than three years in the NBA, you can't be assigned to the D-League. Which if true, would mean we couldn't send Williams down. Now its possible we could if he agreed to it. But as I said, I'm not sure about the rule. Too sick to take the time to look it up.

The last part is correct. In fact, not only Williams but also the players union would have to sign off on any trip to the D-League.
But we're still good with the walk through the forest with a pork chop around his neck, right?![]()
I am confused are you hoping for a pack of wolves or Rocket Racoon and Groot to just take him away? But we're still good with the walk through the forest with a pork chop around his neck, right?![]()

If any player need to get active it's SimSim is on the inactive list in Reno apparently.
Yes, but they were unsigned at the time. At some point over the past five years or so, they changed the rules in the D-League so that there's no longer a cap on how many seasons you can have played in the NBA, and still be eligible to play in the D-League. You just can't send a veteran down if he's signed to your roster. The only way that Derrick Williams could play in the D-League is if he gets waived outright, and is not claimed off waivers by anybody, or not until after he becomes an unrestricted free agent.Did Antoine Walker and Mikki Moore play in the D-League?
