Al Harrington?

now that al harrington fired his agent, the indiana deal is in jeopardy...

what do you all think of a SAR and Garcia trade for Harrington... atlanta would not want KT's contract, so I doubt we can include him in the trade instead of SAR.... SAR was the hawks last all star player and left on good terms, if I remember correctly... they may not mind having him back in the rotation for his reasonable MLE contract... garcia gives the hawks a young wing player, instead of the kings giving up a 1st round pick... since the kings signed salmons, garcia may be the odd man out...

harrington would give the kings a young, athletic power forward... i think he could be a much better rebounder than he has shown thus far, if he plays the power forward position...

the kings line up would be....

PF Harrington / KT / Amundson
SF Artest / Salmons / Williamson
C Miller / Potopenko / FA (Cato or Kandi)
SG Martin / Douby
PG Bibby / Hart / Price

He's been a big minute player for a couple of years now and has been ATL's starting PF, yet only grabbed 6-7 rebounds.

Tweener, basically Shareef without all the spin moves in the post. I'd rather have Shareef.

Al Harrington is NOT a power forward. I don't think this deal makes much sense.

By the way, these are the kind of deals Geoff Petrie is paid NOT to make.

In other words, they may be on the table, and of course we'll never know, but he's wise enough to say "no thanks".

I would add SAR and Garcia are expendable pieces with trade value...but there is no reason to ship them off just for the most available free agent.

Harrington is a talented player, but not what we need. He doesn't bring interior defense or compliment Brad/SAR's shortcomings. We need guys that do that.

Guys like Cato/Olowokandi/Foster/Etan Thomas/Dalembert/Jake T/Camby/Wilcox (maybe)/Haywood.

I heard hes gonna end up a Laker i hope not or else there diffenently better then us.

I wouldn't say definitely better. I heard he's gonna end up a Pacer too.

Kobe/Harrington/Odom/Radmanovic (Vlad off the bench) is great offensively and athleticism wise, indeed. Doesn't push them up another level though.

Could've been a smokescreen maybe or they can just put Odom at the 1 spot and have Vlad at the 3 and Al at the 4.

Harrington really can't help. He is actually quite similar to Reef is some ways, and does not help with the reboundng or interior defense issues.

Why would you trade Reef and Garcia for Harrington?

Reef > Harrington.

How could he be a better rebounder than he showed us when he was basically playing in a crappy rebounding team with no bigs.
