Anyone think AK would be a good fit here? he has been losing value wit his owners and coach ripping him through the media. it appears that the situation there is only going to get worse.

I think AK would have a big impact on our team being that 1 he plays def. and is one of the top shot blockers. 2 hes quick, good slasher, and 3 has a good(not great) jumper that reaches 3pt land.

plus if he feels like he wants to be a go to guy, with our roster he would defiantly be a go to guy.

only thing that worries me about this guy is hes a non crazy verson of artest. a truly gifted def. player that wants to be more apart of the offense,And injurys. However i think that the real issue with him and utah is that he just cant handle playing for the old school hardnosed Sloan. I dont think that this would be a problem cause Sloan is one in a million and is not like anyother coach in the NBA. he is very different.

AK would be a great inprovement all around and a great step towards being a run and gun team. and his defense wow that would be awesome!

Maybe ron and a future pick or ron and something else for AK.
or get a third team involved?

if i remember he has a huge contract, and i dont really want a player like that for a long peroid of time for alot of money, I'd rather have ron... i dont hate him but idk, im not big on him.

Meet the anti-Mrs. Doug Christie, ladies and gentlemen.
In an interview with ESPN Magazine, Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko's wife, former Russian "pop star" Masha Lopatova, says that she allots her husband one free groupie a year. Yep. To quote:
"What's forbidden is always desirable. And athletes, particularly men, are susceptible to all the things they are offered," Lopatova said. "It's the same way raising children - If I tell my child, 'No pizza, no pizza, no pizza,' what does he want more than anything? Pizza."
Thus, since there's so much pizza available on the road in the NBA, she says as long as she knows about it, it's OK. Kirilenko, for his part, knew nothing about the arrangement. "I'm not planning to do anything," he said, before rushing out the door, removing his belt and yelling, "OK, Mormons ... come get some!"

OMG!:D Well, THATS sure a new twist on the whole ideals of 'marraige'.

I wouldn't mind having AK47 at all. Many people think he's a better PF than SF, and that's why he was so screwed up with Utah. He's not bulky, but he's a great athlete who will block shots, get some steals and rebounds, and doesn't need the ball much on offense. Sounds like just what we need. If you have him and Artest on the same frontline, the other teams' forwards are going to have some rough nights.

According to RealGM, Shareef, KT, Garcia and No. 10 for AK and No. 25 works. So, too, does SAR, KT and KMart. I know, I know. It's a steep price for a guy coming off a tough year. But if Utah would bite -- particularly on the first scenario -- you'd have to think about it.

I'd hate to give up Garcia and the pick, but to dump all that salary, get AK and still have a pick in a deep draft? Maybe. Utah would have to think about it, too, because Martin is just what they need, or, in the other scenario, they could improve their shooting guard situation with either Garcia or the No. 10.

Kirilenko is a great fit for a good team. He is a very very useful player. Stats never shows how useful he is. But we are not a good team.

Doesn't a team get better primarily by getting better players? If everyone agrees that improved defense and athleticism are desirable, how can you not consider Kirilenko? Certainly, he's not a superstar who can turn the team around. But adding him and subtracting Thomas (I'm sort of ambivalent about Shareef), I think, could solve a couple of problems.

And while I'd have to think long and hard about trading Martin (a little less about Garcia, though I like what I saw at the end of the season), at least you'd be dealing from your position of greatest depth.

the problem with ak47 is that he is not a go to guy, hes more of a 3rd option and he is a good defender but overpaid and inconsistent, i'll pass on him.

Yes and No ....

With his contract, I would like to have 100% from Andrei's abilities, not 50% or so. He is a great defensive player without Artest's Mega star mentality. But his defense and athleticism are too expensive for us now. Unfortunately, we are not going to win a lot in the next season or even 2 or 3. I would like to see him as a King but I do not think he is a great fit for us. May be I am wrong but that is what I think about it.

You're right, AK47 isn't a go-to guy. But he addresses some of the issues the Kings need addressed. And of the notable players who reportedly are available at this time, he may be the most "gettable" for the Kings, in terms of a price we might be able to afford. We're not going to put together a package for Kobe or KG or Stoudamire or Pierce. Adding the 10th pick will be helpful, but we need lots of help.

I understand your point about him being "too expensive for us now," and it's a fair argument. But consider that part of the equation is also dumping Thomas, which everyone seems to think is a good idea in almost every trade scenario mentioned on this board.

Getting Kirilenko would be an absolutely great move. He's young (26), long, quick and athletic. Kirilenko has proven over several years that he can really play in the league, he fills the stat sheet and he would instantly solve the Kings shotblocking problems. His issue in Utah was that he wanted more minutes/offensive touches, which wouldn't be a problem here, assuming Artest or Bibby are traded to get him. There's no way Utah would have even made him available a year or two ago, because he was too good a piece to trade then. One bad year later and the Kings actually have a shot at getting him.

The Kings would need a third team involved, but they should be working right now to trade Artest and others in a deal that nets Kirilenko.

I'd be interested in seeing AK and Artest playing together. If the Kings want better defense, well, I can't think of a better defensive brace of forwards this side of San Antonio.

Kirilenko is still only 29 in three years, so I don't see that being a problem.

YES! YES! YES!

YES ON AK47!

He had a crappy season because he played more at the SF than the PF this year due to Boozer being there almost the whole year and doing very well. he couldn't adjust and became a bit of a whiner

but AK would definitely work for us IMO, especially if we were to keep Artest. Artest at the 3, AK at the 4. They'd be an amazing defensive duo that can play pretty good offense. Plus, AK can play pretty good point forward as well.

i'd love to see a lineup like this:

Bibby
Martin
Artest
Kirilenko
Miller/Williams/Draft Pick

this would work if Theus realizes that the guys in the 1-4 want to be a big part of the offense. if he were to balance the egos and give them all opportunities on offense as long as they help eachother, we'd have a damn good team

Too emotionally unstable and gets paid a lot. Too much of a risk, like artest, but in a different way.

nowhere NEAR artest
He got emotional because something was wrong with his game and with guy like Jerry Sloan coaching you, he wont come up to you and start discussing your feelings. He will give a straight out hard headed answer.
The man was insane the last couple of games against the Rockets (shut down Tmac) and then the crazy series against Utah.
I would be glad to have him on the Kings.
