Not much argument there (er, I think most would agree with that statement!)Poor kings some nice individual players and personalities but overall poorly assembled, lack of ++ talent, more or less poorly coached.

I would rather keep Keon and move on from most of those other shooting guardsI get people love Keon but for a team that has four or so other shooting guards and that is not close to winning, a late first round pick in a deep draft could be more valuable.
DeRozan, Schroeder, and Monk all with terrible shooting nights.
In a vacuum, I'd agree. But, at least in theory, the other three shooting guards should be gone before next season. You want to trade Ellis for a pick that you then have to turn around and burn on another SG?I get people love Keon but for a team that has four or so other shooting guards and that is not close to winning, a late first round pick in a deep draft could be more valuable.

My only question is if we do wind up keeping Keon how much does it cost us to keep him? A big part of the reason he is generating so much interest is he's basically free in cap money for trade purposes at 2 million. If he makes 18m per or more, and isn't giving you a reliable ~24 minutes a night he's suddenly a lot of weight on your cap sheet. Now for us, rebuilding, no big deal and still a fan favorite so I don't mind either way. But the 20th pick in the draft is ~3.6 million for 4 years, so it's not without merit to consider the options (esp if Carter can replace him in the role). If they moved the others that would be cool
If I were Ellis, the Kings couldn't pay me enough. After being dicked around this season and a good part of last? I would turn down whatever Sacramento offered me and then sign somewhere else for less money out of spite. My only question is if we do wind up keeping Keon how much does it cost us to keep him? Carter offensive rebound, rotation on D, dribble penetrate to create an easy dunk ... Then a miscommunication... Just play him a bit more
Either that or a Wizards "I dare you to lose to us!" L.Tough loss last night leading to a blowout. Might see a Kings pride W in the next one.
That is also cause for concern when it pertains to trading him before the deadline as thanks to Monte's genius he converted his 2-way deal after the NBA trade deadline which puts us in a stupid pickle when it comes to knowing if he's actually going to sign an extension. If I were Ellis, the Kings couldn't pay me enough. Again, I agree in a vacuum, but this presupposes that the organization doesn't think they can get him back. I'm the kind of petty that, if I were Ellis, I would say all of The Right Things™, pay all of the lip service to wanting to stay, re-signing at the end of the season, all of that. And then, as soon as the trade deadline passed, I'd tell my agent to stop taking Perry's calls. This is the best argument I've heard for trading Keon. If the bridge is already truly burned (and it would be for me as well) then get something for him before he's gone for good. It still makes me sad though that it has come to this.
