4-6th pick Idea

If we wind up outside the top 3 missing out on Ant Davis, Gilchrist and Thomas Robinson we should strongly consider trading the pick for a all star caliber veteran. Brad Beal and Harrison Barnes are shoot first players who don't fit in with what we have. Drummond is an intriguing player but he is nearly as immature as Cousins. Add the fact that he is at least 2-3 seasons away from being viewed as a consistent contributor. When Cousins contract is up and he isn't winning soon he may choose to depart.

Let Donte Greene, Jason Thompson walk. Amnesty Salmons
Resign Terrence Williams

Free Agency - Landry Fields - can shoot and defend. terrific team player, would be a great 6th man.

Trade Draft pick (4-6) and Francisco Garcia for Andre Iguodala
Gives us an All star caliber small forward who can defend, pass and rebound.

Trade Tyreke Evans, Isaiah Thomas, 2nd for Kyle Lowry, 14th pick, Dalembert (assuming Houston accepts team option)
Lowry is a bullish on ball defender and is capable of being a top 8 pg when healthy. IT is a nice player but won't be needed much if Lowry is logging 35+ mpg.
Dalembert comes off the books in one year and can be a solid backup Center until Whiteside is ready.

Draft - John Henson. Long athletic defensive monster. Extremely poor mans Ant Davis

C. Cousins/Dalembert/Whiteside
F. Henson/Hayes
F. Iguodala/TWilliams/Honeycutt
G. Thoronton/Fields
G. Lowry/Jimmer

This is a playoff team easily. Deep with terrific defenders..Henson, Iguodala, Dalembert, Lowry, Fields and Hayes. Paired with explosive scorers Thornton and Cousins. Jimmer would also beable to come in and play off the ball as a boobie Gibson type with Iggy running the point for some stretches. Dalembert would also allow Cousins to slide over and overmatch powerforwards throughout that game as well.

Well, I'm not sure I like the rest of your plan necessarily, but I'd agree the team should definitely consider trading the pick for a youngish all-star level player if it can. The problem is: who?

Nope

It's too late in Iggy's career for that.

Also, don't we need some players that "can" shoot first ? I mean, we really don't have any sharpshooters on our team other than Jimmer, and until he gets his confidence back, we really have zero sharpshooters. I'm not sure I'd really consider Beal and Barnes sharpshooters, but at least you can say that they have a game from the perimeter. Personally, if Barnes falls to us, I think he will be a solid player that will fit in a position of need. I wouldn't have a problem with that. Beal isn't necessarily what we need, but his potential talent level is too high to ignore. I honestly don't know if I would choose Drummond and go for the home run, or go with Wade Jr.

Or again... trade back to around 10 and take Terrence Jones.

At least Drummond does have an upside.
My fear would be that if we drafted Henson, Cousins would accidently break him in practice.

I'm more than comfortable drafting Barnes if he's on the table.
I'd be willing to accept drafting Drummond at 5/6 if he's available and the other guys are off.
Drafting Beal/Lamb would be fine, contingent on making other roster moves.
I have no problems trading down, especially if we get another mid-first round pick.

There is no way that I trade the #4 pick and Tyreke for Lowry, Henson and Iggy, and I love Iggy.

Now, if we end up with the #6 pick, I'd trade it and Garcia for Iggy in a heartbeat, but I don't think there is any way Philly goes for that.
