It could also be one of those seasons where 1st and 2nd have 55-60+, then there's a 2nd layer of a few 50 win territory teams and 5-10 is probably 45 W area and down. The Kings and Grizz are likely the stay or drop teams this year.
I just don’t see it, every team in the West is better other than the Blazers, some significantly better. I just think all these teams are just going to be trading blows and splitting series.

There’s a lot of good teams yes but a lot of question marks too. Lakers are relying on a near 40 year old, this is probably the last year the Warriors are relevant and their main guy off the bench is also ancient history, the Suns are absolutely loaded starter wise but have little depth and have injury risks on a couple main guns as well. Memphis won’t regain their swagger as I think there’s permanent damage that Morant caused, Nuggets are a little weaker but still very strong and the Clippers aren’t that strong anymore. The timberwolves are a weird team with a lot of talent but in the wrong positions. I think we will be ok. Maybe not 3rd seed but there’s no reason we shouldn’t be better next season barring injuries.

It could certainly happen, but the teams that really got better were some of the climbers last season. We'll see what happens but usually parity is when there aren't these superstar combo/superteams. If this is the year that the Clippers actually try during the regular season and health is on their side that will just cement them back near the top and push some of the middle teams down. Depending on how teams like the Nuggets, Grizz, and Kings perform early will possibly determine that spread. It's the top teams that usually inflict the pain on the lower ones. The year prior the Suns won 64 games and you had kind of a similar spread. The Nuggets last year didn't dominate during the regular season but if they win 60, the teams below them have a harder chance of getting to that 50 W zone. I think there might be a few teams that have a chance to win 60. The Kings are hopefully one of them.

Question;

Grant Williams 4/53 or Harrison Barnes 3/54, who do you take?
I’d take Williams. Not sure he wanted to be here though. Read somewhere that he and Luka share an agent and he wanted to get to Dallas. Not sure if that’s true or not, but Monte might not have had this choice, at least at that price.

I think Barnes is the play if you think you need offense, especially for a few years. But seeing what Keegan has done the last two games, I think Williams is the better long term fit and need for this roster than Barnes, if he was available to us.

Grant.

But yeah, seems like he wanted to force his way to Dallas to play with Luka. From what I've seen, they're close with the same agent. And no guarantee Bos just doesn't match on Williams and then what?
He would have to sign first for them to match. He had 100% control on where he wanted to go.

Good signings by Dallas nice little rebuild but is the team good enough? Who would be there 3rd guy assuming they don't resign Wood for some cheap deal (is it THJ?). If Dallas do make the playoffs with Luka/Irivng that's a dangerous series for anyone.

honestly expect the Kings to improve based on home play alone but wouldn't be surprised if we were a 4-6 seed as some teams climb. I do expect Memphis to fall way back.

Dallas moved deck chairs. Replaced Finley Smith with Grant Williams, added a rookie wing whose offense is in question, replaced 1 energy big in Powell with Holmes who is not good at pick and roll D. Drafted a rookie big who most likely won’t be ready.
Still comes down to Luka and Kyrie and I still think it’s 50 50 if they can coexist for a full season

They added a much needed chair though. DFS and his defense was traded for Kyrie. Luka / Kyrie need defensive role players around them. Signing Thybulle as well would have been huge, but Portland matched up.

But like you said, all comes down to Luka / Kyrie which is completely up in the air. All the talent in the world, but not without issues.

Also the question of Kidd's coaching acumen. Could not draw up a last shot play to save his life last year.

This is what cracks me up about Atlanta. Two years in a row they've salary-dumped players to get under the luxury tax line and then immediately re-signed someone else for even more money than the contract they unloaded. I suppose this needed to happen -- they weren't just going to let DeJounte Murray walk next summer -- but they're already looking at being a taxpayer team again next year unless they can salary dump someone else.
