Exactly Bogi was more a SF with his length and strength despite being 6'4/6'5 than Huerter, he's more a SG who chips in at the PG spot than the SF spot. Can Huerter play SF sure but it not ideal.

Eh, KAT's already a poor defender at the 5 under the best of circumstances. Get him chasing rangy modern 4's on defense and I imagine his value on that end of the floor plummets further. I guess the hope is that Gobert erases so many points at the rim that it makes up for KAT getting roasted everywhere else on the court.

If he looks like a SF and plays like a SF, he is a SF from my perspective. If you want to split hairs, Google it and he's designated a SF/BG

Honestly, I think they'll have greater success than most 5's in the NBA.

There's some strange aversion here from posters into slotting Keegan Murray at the SF spot.. But I think thats whats going to happen and whats best for the team and whats best for Murray's chances at hitting the ground running.

The King of the Balkans has returned to Turkey to resume his career on a 2 year deal, Bjelly signs with Fener. GSW is cooked next year zero chance they repeat now.

Well, he's mostly been a G/F on an Atlanta team that starts Hunter/Collins. If they think they can get away with Fox, Monk, Huerter full time then they aren't paying much attention to the defensive side at all. Atlanta's other guards were players like Bogdan and Wright. Still more SG than SF but not small like this team would be with Davion, TD, and Monk eating up similar minutes.

I've been watching Kevin Huerter play since he stormed up the recruiting lists as a highschooler, i dont need to base my opinions off of google results. He's a New York native like me, been a fan for almost 10 years now actually. Crazy it's been so long.
I'm not sure where you found that result, but whenever Huerter has started, it has been as the SG next to Trae Young. He's always been a guard in the NBA.

Regardless of where they played prior, this upcoming year we are likely to see Monk, Huerter, TD at SG. Barnes, Huerter, Murray at SF. Barnes, Murray, Lyles at PF. Anyway a line up is formed from that we are providing shooters and floor spacers around whoever is at the 1 and 5.

I don't think anyone doesn't see him playing there some, but now, with he and Barnes the only actual size at SF, he's for sure getting minutes there. The only way for the team to make sense on paper now is they view this as Fox/Sabonis and everything around them plays depending on what they need that day of the week.
I'm thinking it'll be more like players that are too big for Huerter and too fast for Barnes.

Why isn't it ideal? I'd rather him guarding Harrison Barnes than Evan Fournier.

I rather he not guard Barnes since they're on the same team, he's best suited to playing SG than filling in at PG and than at SF.

Because of Davion/Monk. The Kings have actually managed to get smaller on the wing this offseason overall.

I've seen him guard against SFs and SGs. I really don't care what you call him. He's an upgrade over what the Kings currently have, either at SF or SG.

TD ain’t playing over Davion, and like you alluded to earlier, there will be line ups with both Fox and Mitchell in the game. And when these line ups are on the floor together I fully expect to see a combination of Barnes, Murray, Lyles, Sabonis, Holmes with them.

You're not going to get me to talk about how great Monk is. I'd rather have DDV. That said, independent of Monk, Heurter is an upgrade, a net plus for this team. At least now I can see the Kings coming out ahead in the FA period, not behind from where they were.

Well, there has to be for him to average anything more than 12-14 mpg unless they actually see if he can play SF/PF finally, haha. If Davion plays, one of the SG's doesn't unless they play less minutes or they run 4 G's.

That's the issue, nothing is independent of Monk in terms of the lineups. The Kings have two smallish players for their position expecting to play at SG this year. Davion and Monk. This is a big reason why this team is going to be nothing like the Warriors in terms of 3 guard lineups unless they also push those smaller guards back in MPG. Look at the Warriors stats last year. Once they got healthy the smallest player in their rotation was Curry who is like 6'3". Wiggins, Porter, Klay, and Draymond all filled in that length and versatility for them at SG/SF/PF. GP3 was basically their 10th man and Iggy was in an out, mostly out. But they still had way more tools to be able to go big G, and small G lineup wise. The Kings can pretty much go small G, that's it.
