They got Plumlee and a better pick for a worse pick. Plumlee is well worth his contract. I feel like I'm missing something obvious here because it seems to me like Detroit got hosed.
I think Detroit cleared space to possibly put themselves in a better position to take on more assets at the deadline with a bad contract.

So essentially you're arguing that the Kings should never again in history draft a big?
Where did I say that? I'm saying their history in doing so is terrible and it is. And this situation is unique because like when some of those other players were drafted they had chosen someone to build around already, just like now. When you do that and the talent isn't a guaranteed universal this franchises record and any for that matter is going to be spotty at best.

For whatever reasons, pundits don't seem to be as high on Moody as most of the internet.
Which makes me wonder which of them have actual Intel from teams. Most have Moody in the mid-to-late teens at this point.

I know Baja loves Moody. I prefer Wagner.

I can also easily see a scenario where Wagner and Sengun are both gone at 9. 1-4 go chalk. The Magic take Barnes (also chalk at this point I guess), OKC grabs Bouknight, GS takes Wagner, Orlando nabs Sengun as a Vucevic replacement rather than yet another athletic wing with shooting issues and the Kings have to decide if Kuminga is worth the risk.

Booo at this highly likely scenario

Davion Mitchell Jalen Johnson Josh Giddey Kai Jones

My faves

I'm cool with Wagner

Moody kind of underwhelming for me but I guess it'd be OK

Sengun not a huge fan (I think he's a little small), but maybe I'm wrong

It follows from what you've been saying. Every skilled big since Spencer Hawes has been a failure which you gave as a reason not to draft Sengun. Then you labeled Bagley as a skilled big which pretty much implies any first round big is a "skilled" big so it follows that because of their terrible history the Kings shouldn't ever draft a big again.

These aren't my arguments. I'm just trying to follow your thought process.

I think Toronto takes Barnes.

Yeah, I'd honestly prefer that Kuminga be off the board so it isn't a decision the Kings have to make. He's all physical skills and upside right now which makes him the most boom or bust of the lottery picks IMO.

Great if the Kings were to get a star two way wing but of all the teams in the NBA Sacramento can least afford another draft bust at this point.

I think Toronto takes Barnes.
Which means Orlando would grab Suggs. Kuminga is still their kind of wing but at a certain point you'd think they'd realize that drafting big, athletic wings that can't shoot hasn't panned out for them.

That's the interesting thing about pick 8. Kuminga is their type but their type has kept them in the lottery.

Barnes to Toronto is a weird fit if they don't trade Siakam.

It was a JOKE. And not me, I don't like the fit. I said prior to this is if the Kings were starting over on a rebuild he'd be high on my list.
I get it was a joke, but you've been hammering home your point the entire thread. Maybe we need a sub forum for you and tetsujin in case he is the pick, to house all the angst.

And they have OG already. Ah, the more the merrier I guess. If you overload somewhere it's probably best on beastly combos.

That or maybe others can stop being so sensitive on a board meant for posting? Lets not derail this, it ain't about you, ain't about me.
