No worries? Seriously? Are you aware that these are the Sacramento Kings? There should definitely be worry! Our best bet, at this point, is a multiple trade circumstance. If we're counting on free agency to fill needs, we're cooked.
Weary of guys whose stock is falling....all I can do is shake my head and think "Thomas Robinson".......dear god.
Bye bye Marcus and Jimmer.

So he's better than McLemore?![]()
IT, Jimmer, Douglas, McCallum, MT, 'Reke, McLemore... Something has got to give. And it better not be Tyreke.
At least IT knows how to play PG. He's not my ideal PG but he can see the floor 10x better than Evans.
All 30 teams were wrong then. How in the world did that happen?
He's slow, that's what happened. But he has enormous size, great instincts, and is a solid finisher around the rim. He probably won't be DPOY any time soon (again, he was a great defender in college but I think he'll struggle against the faster guys in the NBA), but I would bet good money he'll be in the league for longer than half the guys who went in the first round.
Two ultra athletic backcourt guys... says a lot about what our new fo feels we were missing.
This isn't Jeff Withey vs McLemore. This is Jeff Withey vs. Roy McCallum (who????). What a disaster.
My assessment of McLemore after watching a few readily available games on youtube such as this one or this one is this: he likes to hang out off the ball and wait for open shots to come to him; he seems to be willing to play within a system; that is, he won't break the flow of the offense to look for his shot; he moves the ball; he's like SG version of Harrison Barnes.
When is the deadline to pick up a team option? Does PDA let IT walk?
We didn't draft a combo guard today.... we drafted a sg and a pg.We weren't missing backcourt guys. Maybe a specific, vet PG type of guy, but the team has been acquiring combo guard guys for years.
I was really hoping for a step in the right direction and not more of the same.
You've got to be joking
Seems like some of us thought the team would be built in a day. We have a ton left to do, and I'm confident that we'llSo we didn't get an ideal frontcourt pairing, but I really think McLemore is an ideal backcourt mate for Tyreke. We got shooting, length, athleticism, defensive potential. We still have a huge need for a defensive frontcourt player but we don't have to worry about Noel's knee and there's less pressure now to find a deadeye shooter for SF. McLemore is the third scorer, we jettison Petrie's fleet of little chuckers, and we concentrate on adding defensive role players now.
Definitely worry?
I think it's pretty likely we'll see trades to get rid of some redundancy before the season starts. Also, I think you're mistaken if you think not one hole can be filled via free agency. Free agents do not flock to Sac, but they do flock to whoever offers the most money. While we are precluded from ever signing consensus max free agents (since we can't offer the most money), it certainly doesn't mean we can't make any meaningful acquisitions through free agency.
Sure, as long as we overpay for them. The problem, as I've stated repeatedly, is that Sacramento can't get player X for the same price as another team; you might as well consider it a "putting up with living in Sacramento" signing bonus (no offense, locals). We could use a young-ish SF with range, like Wright, or a defensive stopper, like Kirilenko. Could we actually get them? Sure, maybe. But, I guarantee you, whatever Kirilenko's price would be to play for, say, Dallas, it's going to be that + at least $4M for him to play in Sac.
So, that's your plan, is it?

If Dallas makes a play for Kirilenko, Marion will already be gone, so that's out the window.I disagree. Sure if it's the same contract with Sac vs another city it can play a role. But more importantly, so does available minutes and starting vs bench. AK would start and get minutes here. In Dallas they still have Marion so he would have to deal with maybe starting and less minutes.
