1st round possibility

If we finish with the 6th seed, then we would play seattle. I was wondering if we finished with a better record, which is still possible, would we open with home court against the Sonics?

Seattle would have home court.

I think the rules were changed this year so that the team with the better record does regradless of seating (unless that only applies in later rounds), but since Seattle beat us 3 of 4 this year we would have to actually finish with a better record, not a tie. We're already 4 back in the loss column, so Seattle would have to 1-5 in its last 6 and we would have to win out. Highly unlikely.

We would have home court if we finished with a better record than Seattle even though they would be the 3rd seed and we would be the 6th seed. I doubt that will happen though....

seedings are just there to determine matchups.

if the 6th seed ends up with a better record than the 3rd seed (big possibility in the east), then the 6th seed will have homecourt.
