So, let's review what's happened this year:
1. We're retiring the numbers of Chris Webber and Vlade Divac - something we here at KF have long advocated.
2. Brad Miller, John Salmons, Quincy Douby, Shelden Williams and Mikki Moore are no longer wearing Kings uniforms - something we here at KF have wanted the whole season.
3. The Kings are doing a good job of playing with energy but losing - something most of us here at KF now accept as inevitable and good.
4. The Kings are looking at a top lottery pick in this year's draft - something most of us here at KF are looking forward to with at least interest if not out and out glee.
5. The NBA and Cal Expo have come to an agreement about going forward with a proposal for an arena that doesn't involve public financing - something we here at KF (along with most Kings fans and Sacramento residents who understand the long-term benefits of such a state-of-the-art facility) have been waiting for a very long time and openly advocating.
6. The Maloofs have announced a reduction in ticket prices for the coming year - something our dear Bricklayer (and any number of other loyal KF members, BTW) have been vocal about.
So, to piggyback off Brickie's comments above, I think the Maloofs could have saved themselves a lot of trouble simply by paying more attention to the loyal Kings fans here at Kingsfans.com!
And now, as Brick said, it's up to us to stand up and applaud, to recognize that they get it and to do our part in the bargain. It's a good time - once again - to be a Kings fan and I'm already thinking of ways to attend more games next year in support.
GO KINGS!!
