[NBA] Comments that Don't Warrant Their Own Thread (Playoffs?)

What a bunch of punks. Spoiled babies.
Thats exactly what they are, a bunch of spoiled *** brats. They cant handle losing knowing that they have a stacked team that was expected to 3peat, and now they get to deal with the Laker fans, you know, the fans that are only supportive when they are winning, have fun with that.

Wow. The L.A. Flagrants have completely melted down. What an embarrassment. At this point Jackson should just put the deep bench in and tell them to dribble out the clock until the disgrace is over.
If I was Phil Jackson I would walk out right now in disgust after what Odom and Bynum did. Say what you will about the Lakers, but Jackson is arguably the best coach of all time and he doesn't deserve to be embarrassed like this by his players in his last game as a coach.

Wow, those hits by Odom and Bynum were totally out of nowhere. This is very unlike the Lakers. My respect points for Bynum just tanked down to zero.

Odom was flaggrant, but more like malicious hard pick that blindsided Nowitzki. Bynum was two times flaggrant worse, as a forearm elbow to Berea while rising up for the lay-up. That bush league wack by Bynum deserves a heavy fine and suspension. He could have broke a rib of little but tough Berea - luckily he was ok. BYE BYE LA!!

never forget

Bynum is also the largest guy on the court, and went after the smallest.

wow, i hope bynum gets suspended starting next season. bynum is a dirty *** player. he hurt perkins in the finals and now try to hurt barea.

He did something similar this season as well, can't remember against whom, though. The guy is just a complete punk. Otherwise the game was brilliant though. Seeing Pedja turn on the old flux capacitator made me cry a little. I never thought he could ever do anything like that again.

Edit: found it. The foul was against Michael Beasley.

Yeah, I don't want to put Odom's hit in Bynum's category, but Odom typically doesn't do that type of stuff.

Bynum's was so malicious that I cringed, it was so mean and callous. I didn't think he was like that, but apparently he is. I don't know what's fair to draw out of a single play like that, but he was so nonchalant and unemotional about it. Just a plain dick move. I wouldn't be surprised if this had an effect on the Lakers' openness about trading him. I have to imagine that the Lakers' higher ups would be pretty bitter about a move like that on Phil's last game. It's just so un-laker like.

I think this whole series exposed just how mentally weak the Lakers are. They've obviously very talented, but their motivation fluctuates and they just can't execute with the pressure on. Even though they deserve a lot of credit for making the finals the last three years, they don't have championship players, with the exception of Kobe. Outside of Kobe, they're a very emotionally and mentally weak bunch.

My facebook had a post about buying a Bynum jersey, I didn't watch the game so went and looked it up thinking maybe he pulled a Rondo in a losing effort. What a punk. Do others with Lakers friends see this?

A lot of my family and friends are Laker fans and most of them are pissed about what Bynum did.

Since I'm in youtube mood anyway:
Wow. That is absolutely pathetic. I have never seen that. There is obviously malicious intent there.

I played sports on various levels and one thing I wouldn't allow myself to do (even when the emotions got the better of me) was hit a guy when he was in the air. SO dangerous.

Yeah, I watched the game in a bar down here in SoCal. Even the normally D-baggy Lakers fans were calling it a ***** move (at least most of them).

I heard that after the game Kobe and a few other Lakers checked up on J.J. and apologized for what Bynum did. Classy if true.

I wonder how the NBA will deal with this. If they see a pattern they can be as harsh as they think is reasonable. There is clearly a pattern that Bynum throws a forearm into the upper chest of guys coming his way and in this last one he seemed also trying to connect with his elbow. He is hitting people when they are the most vulnerable. This is intent to injure and I don't think I am being a homer in saying that.

This whole flagrant foul thing started because Barkley saw a way of fouling people going to the basket that was violent. He would get nothing more than a foul. So they inserted the extra penalty and called a flagrant one or two. Bynum seems to be taking it that extra step and it's not simply a hard slap at the arm which is what Barkley would do, there is no intent to do anything but hurt the guy. This seems to me to be a flagrant two with a little extra.

Next move is up to the NBA.

I don't see him escaping with anything less than a 5 game suspension. That was a hit that could be in the top 5 dirtiest plays in NBA history to add onto the fact that he has done similar plays before.

Bynum doesn't even go for the ball.

He waits for the opponent to get up in the air and throws a forearm shiver right to the ribs, which not only hurts the ribcage, but sends the player crashing to the floor.

Then he either walks away with no remorse, or turns around with a "What?!" facial expression.

He needs to be placed into the ring/cage with an MMA fighter and be handled with to show what real violence feels like.

I must say that I'm having the complete opposite experience: all of the laker fans that I know think that it was great what Bynum did, and are glad that "at least somebody on this team has some balls."

Yeah, I dunno... At the bar a lot of the people started laughing when he did it. Which is a **** reaction but better than cheering I guess... But in the aftermath, everyone sitting around me (Lakers fans) pretty much unanimously agreed that it was dirty and didnt really seem like they condoned the move.

Not that I'm at all surprised by the classlessness you're experiencing on your end Slim, these are Lakers fans we're talking about after all. A lotta butthurtness down in SoCal today.

Anyways, if there is such a thing as karma it'll get Bynum in the knee.

Chicago looks like a team that has trouble scoring in bunches - to say the least. Rose has too do almost everything it seems to just have a chance to get his team to the next round - but maybe not to the finals. Great D by Bulls (most of the time) but lots of questions at this point about everybody not named Rose. Meanwhile, Atlanta thinks they can now knock 'em out of playoffs just by hanging around every game. I thought Chicago was a bit better than Boston or Miami - now I know they're not.

One might suggest that with Rose putting up 32 shots there really wasn't much chance for anybody else to do much. In fact, while I doubt it will happen, after watching Rose and Westbrook in these playoffs it would be kind of nice if people got off Reke's back for being some sort of supreme ballhog. Rose is averaging 28.3 FGA in this playoff series, Reke had 1 game with that many shot attempts all season long (when he scored 35 against Golden State). Rose is averaging 23.3FGA in the playoffs while shooting .409. Westbrook is averaging 21 FGA in this playoffs, while shooting .392. Reke averaged 16.4FGA a game this year. 16.2 last year. Would be nice if this gave people some perspective.
