My loss? No. My name isn't Kornheiser, and I don't have a dog. I don't actually like animals. I'm just being sympathetic to my favorite media personality, Tony Kornheiser:

He's been on the the air, locally, since 1992, and he's been a national entity since, roughly, 1999, I think. One of the reasons why he's my favorite media personality is because I genuinely don't really like sports all that much, aside from basketball. And, although his show is, technically, considered a sports talk radio program, unlike local meatheads, blowhards like Gnome, or other blathering numbskulls like Nit and Wit or Cowturd on ESPN, Kornheiser doesn't really talk about sports all that much and, when he does, he talks about them from the perspective of someone for whom sports is not the most important thing in his life. He rarely discusses games, and he never has athletes on his show. Despite the subtext of a sports show, it's ostensibly a show to talk about current events and pop culture, which is much more interesting to me than actual sports talk.

Anyway, he's been saying for years that the show is about him and his dog. And now, the dog's dead.

My mistake then, Slim. Thought maybe all those names were part of an official AKC registered name. Well, she looks like a good old gal and I kind of like Brittany Spaniels. Had one many years ago. My sympathies to Tony Kornheiser, then.

Yes I too thought it was an AKC name for a dog you named after your favorite radio host - I did actually recall that you were a big fan. Sorry Tony!

No, you come up with your own name but normally they have to be unique to get approved in any reasonable time frame. So while you may call your dog Scottie, you might have to register it with the AKC name of Scottish Rays of Golden Sunshine or something far more ridiculous than that because I'm certain that was probably taken decades ago.

Well, I just got a new job. It's the first time in a while that I won't be flat broke (since the recession basically killed my small business). I'm surprised, as a 20 something who is still working on his college degree, in this economic climate, in one of the worst impacted areas of the country, that I was able to get a job that is as good as I did. I don't get paid for over a month, but I hope to be a contributing member in the not-so-distant future!

I went through the first 5 pages and can't believe this hasn't occur yet..

that being said..I'm not going to look for it @ the other 213

So this Five guys place is making its way to Sacramento (Elk Grove)...will have to check it out
This inspired me to get to the one across the river in Vancouver, WA.

It was tasty. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with just mayo and lettuce, I'm not sure if it was just that combo, but it kind of tasted like what a Wendy's burger would taste like if they used premium meat and it was super juicy despite their claim to cook the meat to well done. My wife thought hers was more in and outish. I think I will try bbq sauce next time, or maybe the hot sauce. I had the cajun fries as well. I enjoyed it but it is a bit out of my way so not sure how regular of a thing it will become. Probably a good thing there isn't one down the street yet lol.
