At first glance this sign seems like an understated little advertisement for the Portland Timbers MLS debut in 2011.
The sign is in Seattle near Qwest field where their bitter rivals the Sounders play. How awesome is that???

Finally upgrading to HD programming with Dish now that there is no additional monthly fee (for life) or charge for the new dual-tuner HD DVR receiver (HD in one room, SD in the second) - figured if I waited long enough some good deal like this would pop up!

^^Cute and cuddly? Not so much. :)

"MY LIVING WILL:

Last night, my kids and I were sitting in the living room and I said to them, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'

They got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my wine.

They are SO on my **** list ..." ;)

I live in SoCal and I drive 50 miles to get Five Guys:

And the nearest in n out is 5 miles away.
OK, I am reviving this topic, as a friend and I went to Five Guys recently in Natomas. Good burgers. We really liked the cajun fries. We would definitely go again. Not 50 miles worth of driving good, but definitely 15 miles of driving good.

And I agree with Slim that In-n-Out is **** compared to places like Five Guys, Red Robin, and Carl's Jr. Those are burgers on a level that In-n-Out and McD's can only dream of.

There's 3 5 guys that are all about 15 miles from home. If I get within 5 miles now I'll go. So I've been about 4 or 5 times now. I am liking the burger best with bacon, bbq and hot sauce. The hot sauce isn't really hot, and the bbq is more on the sweet side so it is a good combo.

When I was in Cali over the last 2 weekends people kept asking me if I went to In-N-Out. I'm never going to get the obsession with that place. I'd of gone to Tommy Burgers when I was in LA if I wasn't sick that day.

If that's the case, you should pay a visit to a little town called Phoenix, all desert all the time, hardly any rain ever. I'd love some rain right about now, it's October and it's in the 105+ degree category, special.

I've lived a plurality of my life in the north; I hate the heat only slightly less than I hate the rain.

And, anyway, I did three tours to the Persian Gulf while I was on active duty; that should cover me for the desert for the rest of my life, as far as I'm concerned.

I made two batches of cupcakes, waiting for them to cool to frost them, brownies are in the oven, egg's are boiling on the stove for some deviled eggs, landry in the machine and taking a break in between washing dishes.

I feel so domesticated :(

my favorite Glee episode yet. joel, beatles, simon and garfunkle=happy musical me. and Z was clapping along on all of it. :) too bad I was trying to put him down for nap. :(

Yesterday around noon time, in Phoenix by the way...I am getting a haircut at the barbershop. Ten minutes in, I look outside and it's raining hale, not little chunks either, they were pretty big indeed. I was surprised to see anything close resembling to snow, the streets were flooded, though nothing serious. What a day for sure..

Yeah I passed right by the 3 TV news cast as I was driving home. Today, not a drop of rain, just nice and cloudy and partly sunny. Cool nights. I love Phoenix weather in the winter time, nothing quite like it.
