Lets "HELP" Tyreke get ROY!!!!!

I have a feeling Tyreke will be cheated out of this thing.

I hope not, but thats why I made this thread. Some think its excessive. But I don't want to regret not doing anything if by any slim chance Tyreke gets cheated. Its not like these type of things never happen to the Kings. Its like the standwithreke.com suggest, email, post in forums, post comments to make our voice heard.

The problem with most of the awards is there is no criteria, so each voter can make up their own critera to support their vote. Unlike Lawlor, most of the media have probably cast their votes already, by now.

Ian Thomsen pick Jenning for ROY.

Reason: He picked Carmelo over LBJ because Nuggest went to the playoff so the same is true for Jennings.

I thought it is the best rookie of the year not the better team.
He was an idiot then and still is one now.

You can't worry too much about that one -- the guy voted for Melo over LeBron too and is unrepentant. At least he's a consistent idiot.

He almost has to vote for Jennings considering. Which I think is why a lot of people that are pretending to be on the fence will come around, if only out of fear for their mailbags being clouded by "Hey aren't you the idiot who voted for Melo over LeBron" any time something comes into question, or "How can you reverse your stance now" down the road.

Nellie should have been done two years ago or so.
Yeah no kidding...once that 'fun' group with Jackson, Davis and Harrington got broke up that was pretty much the end. They need a new direction...not sure if you want to start 'fresh' with a bunch of kids and JVG though. Anyway, that's for another thread. FYI, anyone who voted/votes for anyone but Tyreke once he gets 24 more points and locks up 20-5-5 needs to have their head checked!

Heh, I just got done with an emial exchange with the Freepress guy earlier this evening. His response to my 3 paragraph email detailing his faulty reasoning:

:p
Of the people that you've emailed, what's the best response that you've got? Have most of the people just tried to defend their pick (in this case, not picking Evans), or did some of them actually start to change their minds?

People that concede that Evans will most likely end up the better player should not be allowed to vote against him. Doing so is just about the most retarded thing I can think of. They would hardly have an argument, if Curry had outperformed Tyreke, but seeing that Tyreke has clearly been the better player, thinking that he'll be the better player in the future and then voting against him? What madness is that?

And that other one: Curry's passing ability is only matched (matched?!? not "vastly exceeded" but "matched"?) by Steve Nash? The hell? What about Paul, Williams, Kidd or Rondo? Why hasn't he been able to average more than 8,1 assists for a month, even though he plays a bajillion minutes on a team that leads the league in pace (and does so by a mile, I might add).

Still think the best conversation, such as it was, was with Drew Packham the NBA.com rookie guy (who alas does not have a vote). Pointed out a few things to him that made him go hmm..., including the blatant home scorekeeper assist inflation Curry & Collison appeared ot be benefitting from.

Otherwise I generally consider it a hit just to get a response back at all -- means they have at least read your points. And then, who knows. If I ever score such a direct hit that the guy comes back and says "you know what, you convinced me I was wrong, I'm changing my vote right now" I'll let you know. :p

LOL the daily contributor didnt even mention Tyreke Evans! WOW. I STILL think Evans is going to win by a minimum of a 2:1 ratio.

Fortunately I would bet heavily that "The Daily Contributor", which I did not even know existed until just now, doesn't get avote in these things.

Its unfortunate that things have to even come down to this. Its actually a race when Tyreke should be the clear winner. Sucks to hear what some of these "experts" are thinking.

Bill Simmons picked Curry and here is his explanation..

He also hints in other paragraphs to say Evans can't really play with anyone.

I emailed various people (even the ones who said they are voting for Evans just in case) and just hope they read it. At least they know there are a lot of Evans fans out there. Again, it bugs me that it has to come down to this and it being closer than it should. But I just hate to do nothing and find out later we got robbed again.
