I had intended to forfeit this pick, in accordance with the established rules, in order to modify my genre. However, after looking at several sources online, I have decided that Action/Drama is close enough to Action/Suspense to serve my purposes... So, instead, I shall draft the next member of my cast:

Beth Riesgraf

Any good exploitation flick needs not only the bad girls you root for, but also at least one bad girl that you root against. For that, my next pick:

Juliette Lewis -- I realize that there are quite a few people out there who think Juliette is extremely hot. I don't share those feelings, however, so it's not the inspiration for this pick. That being said, it's hard to deny that she does have a palpable sexual presence in many of her roles. That aggressive sexuality, coupled with her willingness to go completely bat**** crazy in front of the camera, made her an obvious choice for my genre.

Hot?

She is really trying right there...and she shouldn't bother. The effect is just man in drag.

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Big and bold announcement even:

Upon further reflection, polling, suggestions from various members, the urging of NME here tonight (who may be blamed at will for any pernicious results):

1) 4 rounds will be added to the end of this draft;

2) and because some members do not have any real need for the extra rounds to select actors, 2 additional specialists may be taken instead of actors (along with the 1 current one, so 3 total). So you don't want any more actors, fine. Take a co-producer, take a composer, take a key grip. Have fun.

Complaints may be directed to NME.

Compliments may be directed to me.

the changes will be reflected in the draft boards etc. as soon as i get to them -- the 4 rounds will be added before the final round explaining your movie.

Hey Brick, can we draft certain songs and/or artists to be on our soundtrack instead of composers?

Don't see why not-- the specialist picks are pretty wide open, assuming its anyone who would or could normally be part of a movie production.

Only reason for any specialist limits at all is just to keep all the movies movieish and roughly equal rather than having one with 12 actors and one with 2 actors and nothing but specilalists.

My Pick:
Christopher Nolan -Director

I need a guy who is going to lure you on to the red carpet, and then rip it from under your feet. I'm going for a very twisted climax, and this is the guy to do that for me.

Not to mention, his filmography is just brilliant.

Notable Flicks
Batman Begins
Batman: The Dark Night
The Prestige
Memento

Cool :D Thanks for the clarification.

BTW, venom- great picks

My Pick:
Tim Roth

Should be self explanatory, and I would rather define roles in the write-up as to ot expose my plot.
I gotta ask what is poor Justin Long doing in with this crew? I mean his career highlight is getting to be the "cool guy" for the Betamax of computer companies. :p

Truth now: is he going to be the bring us coffee and doughnuts guy?

I thought about nailing down my writer with this pick, but since no one seems to be going anywhere near him at this point, I'll keep the British Isles trend started by venom_7. My next actor:

Ewan McGregor -- As with many of the other actors I've got, versatility is the main appeal. I've yet to see a genre/style in which he doesn't excel, so I've got no doubts he'd be able to handle this one.

And now, just to prove that it's not an all-female cast, I shall now be casting my one substantial male role. Not to be confused with "male lead," because there isn't one. In fact, I have, to this point, listed my cast precisely in credits order. That being said, there is one male role that gets significant screen time in my movie, and he will be played by:

Michael Weatherly

Playing a similar character as Brynner but on the opposite side of the conflict. Needs to be able to protray a dubiously shaded antagonist with class and gentlemenly sophistication. And no fair screaming "KHAAAAN"

Ricardo Montalban

I have a suggestion for a working title for your film: Accent-palooza! It's yours if you want it. ;)

I do not repeat this for spectacle, but just so that people later in the queue who might not have checked in and might not read back far enough in the thread see it as well:

You're gonna make me yack. ;)

So Spike hasn't been on for a few days now, and he didn't PM anymore picks to 6th. Should we skip him, or just let him time-out?

Edit: He does have til 1:16 PM tomorrow, so it might be premature...

I think it's WAY too early to start worrying about him timing out. If and WHEN it comes to that, I suggest we let the draft commissioner Bricklayer make any decisions that may be required.
