what was the last movie you watched?

I wanna see that too. Is it better or worse than Casino Royale? Because I really liked that one
If you liked Casino Royale, you would like this one too. I cannot tell which one is better because I believe you have to watch both films to enjoy em. And I think this is the first bond film that actually is a sequel to a previous one, but I might be wrong since I haven't watched the full bond series.

Taken - I'm a big fan of Liam Neeson and I consider him one of the best Actors in the last two decades. I love his role in this film although it is totally different than what I used to see from him(which shows his versatility as an actor). Just think about an aged Jason Bourne meets Jack Bauer. His totally kick-#@@ in this movie.

Conspiracy - A made for HBO movie about the meeting of the head Nazis that determined the fate of the Jewish people in Axis occupied territories. Slow. I don't even remember putting it on the Blockbuter list, but apparently I did.

Saw Eagle Eye tonight. And in spite of all its flaws, I really enjoyed it.

The plot is stupid and some of the scenes are just way over the top, but it really is an enjoyable film. The action really never stops, and I think the cast works great.

Some of the plot and the negatives:
Eagle Eye wound up being too much like I Robot for me. And in a bad way. It just wasn't executed properly, and (as is often the case in Hollywood) it took a pretty good idea and turned it into something so unbelievable and over the top that you just grimace and turn your head for the final 30 minutes until the embarrassment is over.

That having been said, the "Even Stevens" boy is becoming a great actor. In every scene, he shows a complete understanding of what that scene calls for, what the mood is, what the objective is, and without grandstanding, is able to inject himself in the scene in a way that makes you wonder if anyone (I mean anyone) could have pulled that particular scene off as well. His comedic timing is incredible, and even when it's subdued, it's still on key. His performance saved this movie for me. Same with Disturbia.

I just finished watching "Journey to the Center of the Earth," forgoing the 3-D version as those stupid glasses give me horrible headaches.

I really liked this version. Brendan Fraser always does a good job...I like the idea they left the door open for a sequel involving Atlantis...

Here's what kills me about Fraser. One half of his resume consists of School Ties, Gods and Monsters, and Crash.

And the other half ... well: Encino Man, Monkeybone, Blast From the Past, Dudley Do-Right, Looney Toons: Back In Action, you get the idea. I mean the man has appeared in three Pauly Shore movies. And in between, he headlined a blockbuster franchise with The Mummy series.

So I don't get it; what is he? An amazingly diverse actor? A leading man who often makes some terrible role choices. Is he all about the money and sometimes gets lucky with a good role? Does he even read scripts? Does he just have the world's most ADHD agent? What's the story?

Michael Caine was famous for not turning down roles in just about anything:

"First of all, I choose the great roles, and if none of these come, I choose the mediocre ones, and if they don't come, I choose the ones that pay the rent."

and:

"Oh, what a shock. My career must be slipping. This is the first time I've been available to pick up an award."

He's one of my favorites. :D

The Happening -- that was nearly as inept as everybody else was saying it was. Only makes it worse that for the first five minutes I was thinking, hey, this isn't so bad (a nifty scene with construction workers was the highlight). But my goodness. Whatever happened to M. Night anyway? And they just need to shoot whoever wrote the thing (and surprise, that would be M. Night too). Oh, and Mark Wahlberg. Except he will probably take care of that himself after giving one of the worst screen performances I've seen in years. Fortunately I have seen Santa Claus With Muscles :)o) so my standards are set rather low, otherwise I'd be suing to get my hour and a half back.

Yeah that construction scene was pretty good. And I agree that Wahlberg definitely could've been a lot better (I'm actually a fan of his movies). I hated how
they gave the twist away in the middle. I was waiting and waiting for them to say that it wasn't the plants but something entirely different causing it. But it never came

The only good thing about that piece of junk was that the Philly scenes were all shot within a few blocks of where I used to live (I actually recognized the street corners, and the New York scenes within a few blocks of where I used to work. That was all I got out of it. "Oh look! Its Locust Street!"

And Wahlberg...hey,he's solid as a rule, but that was just comical. The Hulkster might have been better in SCWM. :p

Finally saw Fight Club. What the heck was that? Strange movie, and not at all what I was expecting. Not sure WHAT I was expecting, but that wasn't it.

I watched Untraceable, bad movie at least partially shot in Portland. I like serial killer stuff but the payoff here was pointless, also waaaaay too much product placement. There was at least one scene which came off as a commercial and had me scratching my head wondering if it could possibly advance the plot.

Also watched a doc about the guy who made the Boondock Saints (which I've never seen) called Overnight. Pretty fascinating watching this guy who just may be the biggest douche in Hollywood (saying a lot since I knew quite a few) throw away a ridiculously golden opportunity. Just wow. If you've ever seen DiG!, this guy makes Anton Newcomb look level headed.

Then I watched a few GG Allin shows. Its amazing what you'll find on Netflix instant streaming. I have like 50 movies queued up now that I can view these on the Xbox.

Mirror Mask - a trippy Jim Henson family inspired dream sequence movie. The plot was underwelming and confusing, but the visuals and eeriness of the visuals was very well done. I enjoyed it.

Twilight.

Not my choice, for the record, but I've got a friend working through an embarrassing crush on the uber emo, brooding main vampire. It was pretty bad. But at least it had a high enough cheese factor and enough unintentional humor that it was somewhat entertaining. Weirdest thing was how bad it looked, though. I'll admit to not knowing the financial specifics, but I'm guessing the budget was big enough to not make the crappy special effects a necessity.

Watched Eagle Eye, I kinda liked it until the main plotline started to unfold. It has been overused already, IMO, and I thought the writers could have come up with something better/original.

Transporter 3 - didn't like it as much as the previous ones. I felt that some of the action scenes were forced.

We took our little guy to see Bolt yesterday, and we all really liked it. Yes, it is a Disney movie and somewhat predictable, but we still enjoyed it very much.
