My next choice is........

My Sacrafice - Creed- Weathered

Alot of my friends give me crap for loving Creed and i really don't know why. I think they rock. Not to mention the album its off of (Weathered) stayed #1 on the charts for 8 weeks....one of the longest stays in recent history.

I think I'll go with:

Rock of Ages - Def Leppard - Pyromania

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvNOZegkVXo

[yt=Rock of Ages]DvNOZegkVXo[/yt]

And having never seen the video before.....uh......maybe it's a good thing I grew up without MTV and VH1. Ewwww. I hope that was never all that popular of a video. A uh, not so attractive gal, bad special effects, band members doing bad moves. It has it all.....

Good song, but that IS an atrocious video.

Message from the peanut gallery:

There's a Journey video that leaves all those in the dust ... but I won't mention it in case someone is planning to draft it.

I know of two Journey videos that are in the same league and possibly worth drafting, but I still think "Rock Me Tonight" gets extra credit for effectively killing Squier's career.

Bricklayer

Don't Make Me Use The Bat
As an aside, I would like to hereby officially petition to extend this draft to 30 songs -- I just got done running through my list again, and my absolute shortest must have list still left me woefully over the 25 limit. :eek:

Lots of air instruments being played in that video if I remember correctly. And a mysterious woman walking around some sort of abandoned factory?

As a dose of irony, I should totally be against having 30 rounds, but it really does not matter to me. I think we've all had to leave off favorites in every draft so having some left off here should be no different. Plus Brick, how do you know those extra "must-have" songs you have that push you over 25 won't be taken by someone else?

Either way I'm fine though. Possibly set a deadline to where the draft must finish the 25 rounds in order to extend as we wouldnt want this thing taking 4 or 5 months. Or maybe hold a vote at the end of round 25.

Its my turn again, and I am going to pick my most recent song yet.

Sober - Tool - Undertow

One of those anthem early/mid 90's rock songs that defined a band (a la the already drafted Smells Like Teen Spirit, Creep, Santa Monica, and Undone)

Just a great song all around, with Tool's awesome musicianship showing no better than here. Two perfect riffs by the bass and lead that mesh so well, awesome drumming, and true lyrics from Maynard. You can tell what he is saying about drugs, alcohol and addictions is real. Then it all leads up to the chorus that poses one of the most thought-provoking questions in rock history.

K, maybe i'm blowing it up a tad. But great song, and I decided to link the awesome 93 live performance of it rather than the video. Maynard sure is weird....

I'm trying to stay away from the albums in my album draft, but I'm having a hard time...I guess there's a reason I picked them...

My next pick:

Nightswimming - REM - Automatic For The People

[yt=REM - Nightswimming]NoG_AxQokVY[/yt]

This is my favorite REM song...an incredible melody. Not much else to say about it...it's just one that is constantly with me; in the car, at work, at home, etc.

Man you had that ready, you got that up quick!

Nice pick, I had never heard it before but decided to listen to it all the way through. It was pretty good, I like simple songs like that.

So much calmer than the pick I just made, go check that one out if you wanna get woke up :p

I'll admit...I had that pick ready to go, already typed up.

And though I've never been a big Tool fan, I've always liked Sober.

Pick #7 time. I think I need some flavor on my island. This tune always gets me moving, and I love the improvised acappela chorus and lead vocals. All around, this is a tune I would gladly listen to for the next 75 years, and a good pick me up from a couple of my downer selections. I pick Steal my Kisses (Ben Harper) Live from Mars

Thanks to Bricklayer for filling in for me, and thanks for updating the VG draft board as well (although a little short notice on the no taking trips part :p)

My #7 will be my contribution to the Smashing Pumpkins picks. I wanted to take this later, but there's 2 songs gone by them already. Luckily my favorite one hasn't been taken yet.

[yt=1979]E2snP7rGP6g[/yt]

1979 - Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness

Sing for the moment - eminen

I can't wait to hear what I get for this pick... I suggest you listen to it before you write it off as a horrible eminen song.
