Looks like we are dumping salary. Thornton for cv and singler works. Cv is expiring and singler gives you a cheap youngster just to see if he is worth it. Can still dump a Hayes + IT later for a more talented youngster. And you have salmons expiring to get a role player from a team looking to dump later. We actually do have the dreaded word (tradeable pieces) in the right circumstances

lol. I get an enormous kick out of this Larry Sanders superstar stuff that has sprung up around the net.

Larry Sanders has half a season of good basketball under his belt, and off of it they signed him to a stupid contract. At which point he fell on his face and them went and hurt himself in a barroom brawl. right now he's a guy averaging 2.7pts 3.7reb on a $12mil contract. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd have a hard time moving for anything right now until he gets back and proves he's not a flash in the pan contract year warrior. You gamble and are wrong on a $12mil contract, you trash your team's future. Make the Biedrins signing look like nothing.

I don't see them moving him just months after dropping the big contract on him as their latest great hope, but if they were going to, I guarantee nobody over these is delusional enough to be demanding a superstar in return. For a team with no backcourt, an IT/Ben combo would be quite the haul in return.
I won't argue the not worth a superstar part, which is obviously insane, but Sanders is good, real good, and has always been, when he's been able to stay on the court. foul trouble and head casedness have been the two things keeping him from achieving what he did last season and that was basically work as a top3 big defender and a legitimate game changer on that end. it seems more likely that his play was the result of a young player figuring things out than it being a contract year push, he is only in his fourth season, after all. his struggles so far have come in alll of 52 minutes spread over three games, while he's fallen back into bad habits, struggling to find his way under a new coach, in a new system and with a lot of turnover on the roster around him. the offcourt stuff is more troubling, but I'm fairly confident that he'll be worth his money and calling that contract stupid is fairly premature.

all that being said, of course he's not getting traded. aside from the fact that it's unpractical to do with all that poison pill stuff going on, no team would be so insane as to trade a guy they've just pretty much committed to roughly four months ago. even Milwaukee, who are into some real crazy stuff lately.

Turning Thortan into any img is a maricle let alone a young back SF who can shoot (singler) and clearing his 8mill in cap (villinava expiring)
What?

There's so much wrong in this post, I don't know where to begin. Spelling, grammar, incorrect names, wrong use of words and am I reading it correctly that you meant a "young black SF"?

I was inclined to let that go. ;) I thought it was somebody using a mobile device with auto correct and not bothering to check his/her note before posting it. Lazy. I could be wrong.

Doubt it.

Yeah, you should read some of the text messages my wife sends me when she's out and about. Everything from, "I just sold our first born" to, " I just bought a camel ".

Here's an idea, the Kings should trade for a defensive minded G/F.
This is just my list:
1. Iman Shumpert - it's possible to get him now.
2. Thabo Sefalosha - I doubt the Thunder would trade him.
3. Tony Allen - Grizzlies I think will only trade him if they get a better player.
4. Avery Bradley - maybe possible to get.
5. MKG - not sure about him but I like his defense.
6. Gary Neal - not sure also but does he play defense? I'm just assuming he plays D though.

There's also the draft. Defensive role-players tend to be late first round picks. A few teams have multiple picks at the end of the first round this year, and those types of picks can often be bought or traded for. A wing defender would be a nice luxury to have but I think mainly we need to work on our starting lineup and that means a plus defender at PG and a plus defender at PF. Lowry and Bledsoe are both free agents and could help with the PG position. I think Cousins is flexible enough to play either C or PF, so we just need some kind of post defender to slot next to him. Biyombo is probably available. Oden hasn't played yet, but he only signed a 1 year deal. That type of player is usually easier to draft than sign (unless you overpay).

Good points. Certainly we could trade some of what we have for a late first rounder or high 2nd rounder. As most teams don't value defensive minded players over offensive minded players (including us) we would have the luxury and some would say the necessity of getting a defensive minded stud at ANY position. I haven't followed Biyombo's career and am not surprised not to have heard much of him.

Some people would be happy to get a first born with one hump. o_O I'm keeping mine.

Boy, I'm not a big Biyombo fan. I saw him play 3 times in summer league, and I've caught a few of his games his year, and for what you gain defensively, you give up on the offensive side of the ball. There are times when he's just lost out there. I'd rather take a flyer on Udoh or someone of similar ilk. If all you want is a defensive stopper PG, then we should be able to draft Aaron Craft in the second round of the next draft. He and Marcus Smart are the two best defensive PG's in all of college. Semaj Christon is a very good defender as well, but he's probably going in the first round. By the way, he's a hell of a PG. He doesn't get the PR some of the others get playing at Xavior, but he's a very talented PG with good size at 6'3", and is one of the best ballhandlers in all of college.
