I think it's a risk given what happened with Rubio.It was a media disaster if you followed the Minn newspapers after the draft. I am not worried about Cousins attitude, or the rumors about it. I've wanted him from the start. But given some of the rumors, anyone would admit it's a little bit of a risk. At #5, we would be lucky. At #2 or #3, he's more of a risk. I don't think Kahn would risk making another mistake. I consider Rubio a mistake. If Cousins happened to not want to go to Minn, or if he did in fact end up having an attitude, than kahn could have screwed up 2 consecutive drafts. Thats my point.
Could they take him? of course. But I would say it's more likely they pass. You may disagree. I disagree in thinking Johnson is far behind the top 4 talent wise. i said a long time ago Johnson could be picked in the first 4 depending on the draft order. Minn needs a sf. Here it is. They could either draft Cousins, play him and Big Al together, which would be a disaster IMO, plus they should have Darko, or they try to trade one of them. Trying to dump a player when other teams know you need to get rid of that player is not a good equation. Teams don't offer as much. Or they could plug Johnson right into the starting lineup. They don't have a shooter. If Rubio comes over in a year, then he has a sf to kick the ball to, and help spread the floor. They don't have a halfway decent sf right now.
You might think I'm crazy, but I was Kahn, I would take Johnson. That isn't because I personally want Cousins in a KIngs uniform. I honestly think given what their choices should be, Johnson would be the best fit.
