A random thought...

Corliss doesn't fit this team. He's to much of a one-on-one player. He is a mini black hole that gets the ball, pounds it inside, and throws stuff off the glass. When he's on, he is good, but thats not very often.

BEGIN RANT HERE-Cat's turnover hurt us less than him going 2 for 12 or whatever he shot. Eddie and Mo were the only Kings to shoot better than 50%. When your team plays NO D and you can't shoot you will struggle to beat the Bobcats much less the T-Wolves who are fighting for their playoff lives. We don't seem to have that FIGHT in us. This performance was more dissappointing than the loss. It's hard to beleive that we can keep playing so lackluster. It's frustrating! This team has no mental toughness. Sigh!-END RANT HERE

Just not a great game. Thought we might get it together a couple of times, but it wasn't meant to be. Even the one bright spot, our many offensive rebounds, is partially a factor of shooting so poorly. Hard for the Wolves to get too many offensive rebounds when they seemed to hit every shot. oh well, it's just one game, but boy this season is turning into a regular nail-biter.

exactly. that's why i hate it when people are like "oh, the team is starting to gel". we have one good game, then we have a bad one. that's how it's been since the webber trade and that's how it's going to be for the rest of the season. of course, we can never beat minnesota anyway. they've had our number for the past two seasons.
I think we still didn't know who the Kings were before the trade happen. So not much gel there too before & after the trade.

Wolves always play well vs Kings ever since I can remember. KG cause lots of troubles for us, mismatch and such.

Cat shot better than Bibby did...

WHY can't people just blame the team? It was a TEAM LOSS, just like the wins are team wins.

Agreed. I hope the coaching staff can figure out a way to correct this.
i don't know if coaching can fix it. cat is who he is. i just don't think he fits the princeton offense. he's too selfish, and he makes bad decisions way to much. he thinks shoot before pass and he's way to streaky to have that mindset.

The team IS starting to gel, at least with the players out there right now. The problem IMHO is that people mistake "starting to gel" for much more than in it.

As you say, it's going to be this way for the rest of the season and into the playoffs.
yeah, hopefully we win game 1;) !

I think Cuttino's being doing well in the Kings system. I do agree, sometimes he force shots and at times don't pass. But he've progress in the system, IMO. Plus, I've seen players that force more shots than Cat. It was mainly in the 2nd half that Cuttino force more shots but I think he did that cause the team was down and he wanted to carry the team. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't...and this game, it didn't work.

Moving on to something positive!:D Once again Eddie House did a great job. Didn't miss a shot on a night where nobody else could shoot. He also had 3 boards and 2 assists in limited action. I wonder what he has to do to earn some more playing time!?!?!?! He was in the game when we cut it from 15 to 7.....then RA pulls him.......then we never get any closer?! Wondering what is your opinion on this subject guys?!?!?!

House had a good game! :) He got some open looks and knocked it down. That's always a plus.
I thought when we first got House, he forced lots of shots, trying too hard to make things happen when he didn't need too. But he have relax and been doing much better. He even threw in some nice passes these last few games!! Keep it up, House!

sure. it sounds like a consistency thing then. like i said, cat is streaky. some nights he can't miss and everybody loves him. other times we aren't so lucky. so in the long run i don't think he will be a great fit in sacto but there's a whole other thread on that.

Cat had more of a bad than good game today...but I still love him. ;) So it don't matter if he's knocking down those 3s for me. Before we got Cuttino, we didn't have a player that can do one on one/playmaker and make something happen when the offensive is stagnant. With Cuttino, we do. That's Cat's game. Some shots are force, but that's what happens when you have a player who's a playmaker/"one on one"/streaky guy in your team.

Yup. Today wasn't about any one player.

Also in reference to some posts above. I am more concerned about actually making the playoffs then what seed and who we will play. The loss today was a bad loss. Nobodys fault in particular just a bad loss. This was one we needed to have to almost lock us into the playoffs.

Also I may add (yes RANT time) I am getting pretty tired of hearing all the players/coach talk or say what they are gonna do/need to do in the media and not actually doing it.

K a rant - I am allowed one now and then :)

I know what you mean...harder said than done though.

The kings got caught up in the wolves slow put me to sleep basketball game a half court hypnotic spell bound delivery. The wolves play similar to the kings but much more methodical they put the kings to sleep defensively and this is why the kings didn't get to the loose balls in the second half and the wolves got the shots that they wanted. The strategy by aldeman was a mistake he should have went zone more and this would have got the ball out of cassells hands and made him move the ball around but by taking the ball away from sam you get him out of his comfort zone and that is pick n roll and post up back you in back you down slow game.

Rick should use the zone as a philosophy and keep using it with man to change things up and also when Greg doesn't play the team in my opinion doesn't really play well and it has nothing to do with wins or lossess or any other stat category it just seems he gives the Team a winning presence and spirit.

The wolves are not better than the kings and the kings should of won they basically gave them a playoff hope a gift.Seems the wolves only want to play when they play the kings.Any how the teams that beat the wolves run their butts out the building they don't get caught up in that slow pick n roll methodical turtle game, the suns run them down and this what the kings should have done give them some zone and then some man and this would have sped the game up becuase if you notice the game was relatively close until 3rd quarter and this was a result of the kings playing wolves slow down tempo matching the wolves half court set against half court set tit for tat dancing wit them playing the slow down game.

The team is coming together and corliss did some good things as well he found a few people from his little post play and after that the team didn't choose the right style of play and execution to kick butt,It seemed to me the kings had multiple ways of beating the wolves. They posted peja and hassell had no answer, corliss posted up and made a couple of assist and the high post inside out game was working,They just didn't focus 48 minutes and took the game lightly it definitely was easy game to win seemed like they felt they could just turn it on when ever.

but, ALL OF THE ABOVE IS OLD & TIRED ... I thank the basketball gawds there are fans like you that keep the optimistic side of me HOPING.

But, these guys have been playing ball together since Feb 25th ... that's 20-games. We've got 7-games to go ... and even without Miller and B-Jax, they've got the talent to win some of these games they've been losing.

I'm still holding out .... no injuries and hope Miller and B-Jax make it back it time to RIGHT THE SHIP ....

The Kings lost the game in the first half when they pounded Minnesota on the glass and failed to make shots.

Minnesota picked up the defense in the second half and the Kings did not respond.

I agree! That's the reason why I hope he doesn't stay with the team next year.
