Wizards new uniforms/colors.

Definitely an improvement, kind of have a Team USA vibe, ultimately they were trying to go for the old "Bullets" look.

im digging those. they should go back to washington bullets. what kind of team name is wizards for a pro basketball team.

I like them minus the Wizards name... Makes no sense with those colors.. They should be called the Generals or Bullets or something that makes more sense with the Red, white and blue.

After that Arenas/Crittenton incident, I highly doubt Stern would want them going back to being called the Bullets.

I don't think I'm a fan of those jerseys. A bit too noisy, and the horizontal-dominated theme reminds me a bit too much of the ugly Houston Astros uniforms of the 1980s. Just my two cents. However, at least they got the city-on-road-uniform, team-name-on-home-uniform right. I'm still a bit unhappy about our jerseys because of that.

I can't remember, do NBA rules dictate how often you are allowed to change your main uniform? I'm wondering if they'll be chomping at the bit to change them as soon as they can.

I'm not a fan of those either, like the Captain said, too noisy for me. I actually like their current uniforms. N I still don't understand how that happened to ours. You'd think it'd be REQUIRED to have the city on the road uniform and the team name on the uniform

I like the retro feel, always liked the Bullets name vs. the Wizards, and it is some brand/city solidarity with the Caps who also strayed from their original color scheme in the 90s/00s only to return back more recently.

That said, something about this just isn't right. One too many color changes or something. They look like a soda can. The good news is that the details can be fixed a lot easier over a few seasons than it would be to get color changes approved.

Anyone who remembers the franchise from the 70's and early to mid 80's will recall that those uniforms were even more outlandish. This retro reach is sort of a compromise but they still have too much going on.

BTW, what about the logo. Are they going to keep the logo that they've had for the last 14 years and just change the color scheme to red, white and blue or is that changing also. The "DC" logo that they show on the website is just a secondary logo.

Being a part time Wizards fan, I must say that I dig these new jerseys. I like the color scheme of red, blue and white. They probably will change their name as well just don't know when.

Isn't this a color theme that the mystics and capitals will have too? Coulda sworn I read that somewhere.
Caps reverted to this color scheme in 2007 after abandoning it in 95, Mystics unveiled a new logo earlier but I don't think their jerseys are out yet. I am sure they plan to follow the same scheme, Leonsis seems intent on undoing the 90s and I've actually read in some articles that he does want the Bullets name back. Too bad that in most other ways he's regarded as a terrible owner.

Why do you think so?? I would love him to be the Kings owner.

My understanding is that he's jacked up ticket prices continuously, mocked fans that complained and has a poor relationship with fans overall and has blocked visiting team supporters from getting access to tickets at all (nobody wants an arena full of away team fans but generally some small amount in one section is tolerated and reasonable and even contractually obligated in some leagues).

You can get away with the first and last items as long as you are nice to your fans and act like you care.

It seems like you have a lot of wrong information about him.

I guess there are conflicting reports. It seems like much of what he has done to upset people has been in the past 2-3 years though with raising ticket prices on Caps fans and implementing some kind of ticket optioning/brokerage service that doesn't seem popular and puts fans $ at risk for playoff games that don't happen.

Leonsis is actually a very popular guy in the area. He upped ticket prices because (finally!!) the Caps is the hottest team in town and demand is huge. And who can blame this guy - he lost $100+ millions of dollars since he purchased the team. He was always committed to winning and his wallet is always open to spending. Caps fan conventions and events are probably the best in America. He proved that it is not just a biz for him. Leonsis talks and listens to fans, answer fans' emails.

This guy is not an angel but he is a great owner.

He has some big decisions to make with the Caps after 2 straight disappointing playoffs

He already made that big decision - GMGM is safe and I think it is a smart move. However, I don't like GMGM's decision to keep Bruce. Anyway, they are in a great shape. Caps stars are still young and they have amazing Russian and Canadian prospects.

Don't really like the jerseys. Red, white and blue is fine, but these jerseys are a bit too loud or garish for me.

Wizards isn't a team name that appeals to me. although I'm sure the thought was, "wizards with the basketball." To call someone a wizard at anything implies supreme skill. An unusual ability above those of "mere mortals."

In a city (and cities) where gang violence and shootings were/are all too common, it was thought that "Bullets" wasn't the theme or message the NBA wanted to project.

I don't know who their prospects are, but their young stars keep disappearing in the playoffs. Semin last year, Backstrom this year. They are getting paid way too much money to come up with 2 points and 0 goals during a playoff run. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them traded.

Aren't they just going for the more literal wizards that shoot lightning bolts out of staffs kind of thing? May as well be the unicorns.

And Bullets was only the 2nd most offensive name in that town.
