Will DC play on TUE game?

The Bride

Prospect
I am going to Sac this TUE for the game. Wondering if Doug will play or not. Seems that he is still on the injury list...

He's having surgery and is most definitely out for the rest of the season and will probably not be coming to Sac for the game. :(

Don't count on DC traveling with the team and it might just be too painfull for him to come to Sac right now.

He isn't even with the team and is in Seattle getting a second opinion. He'd probably end up crying on the way to the game and during the game so it's best that he doesn't show.

yeah serisouly i dont think he would even want to travel with the team, it would just be wayyy to painful for him. idk about everyone else but i want doug back!

He hasn't been traveling with the team since the whole ordeal has gone on...and actually he hasn't even been there just sitting on the bench during home games so i seriously doubt he'd travel with the team...I honestly think he would way to sadened to do so...and the trip is like a 5 game west coast swing...so he'd be stuck with the team the whole way...lol

but who knows maybe he does come to visit...::shrugs::

I read that he said a positive thing was that they were going to Sacramento to play the Kings..so I know he was looking forward to that. So he still may join the team..I know it's going to be so hard for him but he still might go b/c when will he get another chance to go there and be in Arco?..he loves it there and all the fans..and all the fans want to see him. I don't know..aww Douglas! You guys going to the game know what you need to do if he is there though..give him the biggest loudest cheers ever..you guys should do a Christie chant. Awww if he's there he's gonna cry. I love him! :(

I cannot imagine him coming to Arco at this point, especially since he's on the IL and out for the year. And, to be honest, I don't think he would want to be there under those conditions.

My thought is that at some point in the future there will be a reunion of the original 5 from 2002 - that they will be recognized and honored for what they gave all of us. It may not be realistic and it may never happen, but it is going to happen in VF21World!~

That's exactly what I told my mom yesterday!..about those original guys reuniting and being honored..that's so wierd. So maybe it'll happen. That would be great

Thanks everyone.
Although I really really want t o see him again, I understand his situation. :(
My trip to SAC tomorrow will be for him and for sure the KINGS.

It'd be nice if they all got their jerseys retired at the same time...

Actually I just heard from a Magic fan...that DC is expected to be at the game cuz he has been visiting doctors in Seattle...so he's expected to be there...

we shall see...

but either way he's not playing in the game...right?

He's on the Injured List. He cannot play.

And I would be totally surprised if he was there. As tough as the whole trade was, I just don't see him coming back and sitting on the bench for the Magic. Doug is emotional and that would be enough to break ANYONE up. I cannot imagine that happening.

They should just give Doug back. Like bring him to the game but forget him at Arco, home-alone style.

Hey, they obviously don't want him.

If I was going to this game, I'd definitely make a "Give us back Doug" sign.

As emotional as sitting on the Magic's bench would be for Doug, I do not see that stopping him from the opportunity to be in ARCO. He loves the players, the organization, and the fans and he knows that they all love him. Since he has been in Seattle for more opinions on his medical situation, I believe he will take advantage of his team being in Sacramento. My belief: He'll be there.

Don't know if Doug will be at the game...but I miss him and hope everything is well for him and his family.

Have fun at the game, Bride!

That's the same thing I think..IF he's not there, the only reason is that he believes it will just be way too hard for him..cause it's not like he doesn't wanna go. I wish I could see that game soo bad!! :( I need NBALP! AWWWW keep us fans on the East Coast updated if he's there or not, please!! Make this something Doug or Kings fans history will never forget!

I just feel so badly for the guy. One minute your living the life in SAC, starting every game, giving 100% and then bam! Sitting on the bench. How sad and humiliating. I miss his energy a whole lot. I hope he is there tonight, so he can see just how much he is missed.

I think what some people aren't realizing is just how emotionally crushing it would be for Doug to be there, sitting on the Magic bench although he's not playing for them, and looking around at the place that has so many GOOD memories associated with it. There is NO way he could maintain his composure if faced with what would undoubtedly be one of the loudest, longest standing ovations ever to occur in Arco.

My personal hope is that he stays away until he has time to put some distance on the whole scenario.
