I think the same can be said for McLemore, but yet people are ready to give up on his potential after one season. If you want to move him in a deal for some vets to try and win now, fine. But you don't give up on a kid with his size, athleticism, and raw shooting ability because he under performed in his first year (under performed might be an understatement).
Ha. Stretch 4, huh? Vonleh has flop written all over him.
What difference does it make if a kid can get better "once he gets the NBA money"? Why should an NBA team pay a kid $11M or so, over three seasons, to learn how to play?I hear this a lot. What prevents Vonleh from working on his weaknesses in the NBA? He has the best coaching, training staff and players to practice against.
What prevents a player from getting better once he gets the NBA money?

What happened to players knowing how to play when they come out of college? Anybody else old enough to remember when that happened?

The question should be why do teams pay young men large $$$ contracts on "potential". It is the teams fault. Nobody is making these teams draft one and done players![]()

Size? He's not a bigger or stronger guard, at all
Can someone explain why the players union is against the NBA raising the limit to two years post high school or an age based cap? The players union all "got theirs". There are a bunch of guys hanging on at the end of their career that will benefit by one extra year when 30 something kids have to sit out an extra year to enter the draft. If they were to make it 21st birthday a lot of kids would have to do 3 years. What difference does it make if a kid can get better "once he gets the NBA money"? Jesus. A lot of ifs there lol So what are his skills?More of a potential defender with his length and ability to get blocks/steals, he has the physical tools to get better (especially if he drops some bulk and improves his mobility.)
patrick ewing will be taking him under his wing. he's going to work with him on the low block instead of trying to be a stretch 4. this was mentioned during a summer league interview.
