Why not add another Chris?

The last time Kings got a premiere PF forward and put the Kings in contention it was Chris Webber. Why not get another Chris this off-season..Chris Bosh!

I mean he wants to be the man, the center piece and all that and what better way for him to win the championship and be that guy than be here in Sacramento. (well OKC is another) I know Kings are not contenders now and in the near future but adding Bosh into the the team will certainly put as into the mix, maybe attract another veteran FA as well (Ray Ray?). Not sure how can this be done numbers wise, sign & trade and we may lose in the process some of our young big guys ie. JThompson.

Just throwing it out there since all the talk has been Lebron, Wade etc..

Chris Bosh is a nice player but not really a franchise player that can turn your team around or carry a team on his back. Not interested in him now that we have a new frontcourt.

Not a bad idea, but NO thanks.

I don't think Bosh has IT. I don't think he can bring the Kings to the promised land. He might even retard the development of our young BIGs.

^^^^

Dude thinks too highly of himself as well a really unlikable player IMO.

IMO chris bosh is a big bluff and his not really a superstar and better players should replace him
in the all star , just saying
i think we are set at 3-4-5 posstions
but we need to improve 1-2 to go to the playoffs

Well, not defending Bosh in anyway but Gasol was at one time in that same situation. Too soft, not good enough..but put him in a nice situation to win and you got something. He's actually the key why Lakers are back-to-back champs (3 trips in the finals), take out Gasol on that Lakers line-up and they're the same 7-8 seed team that got bounced in the 1st rounds 4-5 years ago. Bosh could be that same impact player. Not saying he can do that on our team, but i think he's the best PF inside scoring you can get out there right now and in the near future.

I guess it all depends on what our FO on what route to go to. If win now then a Bosh/FA can be done when talent is around or develop and hope to contend in a few years.

if there was an opportunity - he would be a "must sign" for us but there isn't
I think the "must sign" tag went away last week. But I was definitely on board the Bosh train for a long time even after it became pretty clear he'd never come here. I don't think that Whiteside, Dalembert (or JT) are at Bosh's level, but if Cousins can become a dominant big they just have to be competent.

Bosh made it very clear that he had no intentions of coming to Sacramento.

Even if he was interested, I'm not that big a fan of Chris Bosh, as I too think he's more of a #2 than a #1, and spending $140 million on a second fiddle isn't that desirable a prospect to me.

The only way we could get him is through a sign and trade, and I doubt he would agree to it. I think Bosh has visions of grandeur for his future. He see's himself playing along side another superstar. LeBron, Wade, you pick, or rather, he picks. But lets assume we could work a deal. Toronto would want either Landry or Thompson, or both, or Thompson and Greene. And in the end we would be stuck with a 20 mil contract for 6 years. We would be maxed out capwise. With an uncertain future as for as freeagency goes in the coming years. To make a move like that. A move that could threaten the future of the Kings in a couple of years, you would have to believe that your good enough to make a run for the title. Because in a couple of years when Tyreke's new contract would come up, and you didn't have the money to offer him, your future title hopes from that day forward would be gone.

See, this is the part I don't get. I like Bosh as a player, and think we would love to have him if we could get the chance, but I don't see him wanting to be, or capable of being "the man." Has any star player ever tried harder to avoid being the man? Seriously, this is a young, athletic, highly skilled big man in the prime of his career who should want to have a team built around him. However, he seems so scared to be left behind by the big boys. Jordan, Kobe, Shaq in his prime, Bird, Thomas, Olajuwon, etc... wanted to have their own teams, have the ball in their hands in the closing minutes. Not one of them would have tried to negotiate a signing so he could be Lebron or Wade's sidekick. If I am paying max dollars, I want a guy who says "I don't need Lebron, build me a team and I will beat Lebron." His attitude just seems off...

I mean, it is a sweet gig if Bosh can get it (a max paid Robin to Lebron/Wade's Batman), but I have lost a lot of respect for Bosh as a player.
