Why can't Moore catch a pass?

Cruz do you see that Sheldon brings some of the same things we liked about Justin except he can shoot and post up. Now he doesn't display the atletic freak ability in rebounding but, he does seem to be very good at boxing out. So maybe if he don't get the rebound he makes sure one of his teamates does. I think with a little vote of confidence from Reggie and awarded with playing time he thrive here in Sac. I have seen bust before that went to another team in their 2nd or 3rd year and became pretty good.

Some of it may have to do with the way the passes are thrown. But mikki moore is top of the line garbage. He brings a good attitude. That's it. And I give him credit for that. I cannot build a theology based on my personal bitterness. But This issue is not a personal one. He stinks. Its a team issue, its a league issue, its a nationwide issue, and eating while watching moore can turn into a health issue. I can't watch him in the post without my stomach turning. And his "savvy" hair. Anyone can have a job in the NBA. Our refs are the worst. A lot of these coaches are clueless. And a lot of players aren't worth $10 an hour at walmart. Speaking of walmart...those should be our new uniforms. The blue vest with the yellow smiley faces. Because that's how much teams are intimidated. Leave a pink slip in his locker saying........Where Buying You Out Happens.

Out of concerns for your heath, I have a suggestion. Whenever there's a game, turn off your TV, take a valium, put on a cd of Bob Hope singing " Thanks for the memorys", and go to bed. Well I'm off to Wal Mart...

I'm on the same wave as Entity in that I think Shelden has much more upside than Justin, is a bigger body and can score out to 15-18 ft. Plus he can block out and create space down low, something Justin could not do. Hopefully we'll see his time increase as has Spencer. Might even see he and Haws in for Mikki and Brad!!! :D

Did Moore have this problem in New Jersey? If not, then one has to wonder just a bit if it's the passers that are part of the problem. I've noticed, as mentioned above, that he doesn't bobble everyone's passes. Ones that are thrown too low, however, are a real problem for him. I think it's more a matter of he and the team getting used to each other than anything else.

no he didn't have that problem in new jersey. he went from a team that had a hall of fame pg and a sg that could pass pretty good out of double teams (carter) to a team that hasn't had proven, pass first, pg for the majority of the year and who's best distributor is a center.

he certainly plays his part in the problem, but i think you have to at least consider that it isn't ALL him.

and on another note... why doesn't theus use him in pick and pop situations, especially when brad isn't on the floor? i mean, he did lead the leauge in fg% last year doing just that. why not take advantage of it? not to mention that it would be a much easier pass to catch for him, as opposed to trying to catch the ball on the run, rolling to the basket.

I'm absolutely with you on this. I think we could make much better use of Mikki Moore if we played more to his strengths.

I watched Moore carefully last night to try and see what passes he had problems with and I noticed the rest of the team seemed to try harder to get passes within his reach. I saw a number of bounce passes and some actual handoffs, football style. I'm not sure but I don't think Mikki totally bobbled anything. BUT we lost. Maybe him bobbling a few passes isn't as bad as we think, especially if the alternative means the team is trying too hard to make sure he gets a ball he can catch?

Yeah, I know it's tenuous at best but it was just something I noticed.

I am sure Mikki's hands aren't the size of Webber's. I'd like to see a comparison.

I remember when JWill (the REAL JWill) first began to play for the Kings and the Bee ran a life size picture of one of his hands. I once was the same size as JWill yet his fingers were 1 1/2" longer than mine. That explained a lot to me. 1 1/2" per finger !!! Extraordinary.

It's certainly best to make an effort to notice and explain rather than to make a shot gun blast of derision. It gives us all something concrete to ponder rather than our guesses.

It certainly shouldn't be difficult to understand that team mates need to play together to understand where the guy wants the ball. Time together helps the offense run smoother, less turn overs, less defensive lapses, etc. Imagine the Parrish, Bird, and McHale combo of decades ago. How long were they together? After awhile everything comes natural and the players need to think less.

I don't really see this as animosity. I see people calling him terrible, and delving into his faults, but that's all true. He's a life-long scrub who had a decent year with Jason Kidd and we inexplicably paid him like that's what he always did. I don't begrudge him the money, but since he's on the team I root for I don't mind analyzing his game, which is awful. He's bad at defense, offense, and all the typical big man skills. He's an okay jump shooter. He should probly be the 5th best big man on your team.

I say all this, and i actually kind of like him. Because he tries hard, has funny hair and gives a crap. But that doesn't change the fact that he's not very good and that our team will be much better once we find someone who is more deserving of those minutes.

here's a demotivator. when you think you can compensate for lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you cant do. and that statement is true no matter what you're doing. there is no statement as true as this one.

IMHO you just won the thread. Nice post.

I was going to introduce the concept of ganglia, but could not find an adequate diagram of a diplodicus.
