Why does Bonzi have to come off the bench? Tay going to the bench can only be a good thing. Its not who starts games, its who finishes them. And its not like they can't play together if nessacary.
I have said for a long time (granted, not on this forum) that Tay's place is on the bench BECAUSE he is so good. He needs rest. The best way to ENSURE that, and FORCE that is by having him come off the bench as a super-sub.
All that 'best starting five' garbage has to go. The Pistons won in 04 because from top to bottom, they were just about the deepest team assembled in the past 10 years, and had a good strategist (not tactician I am afraid) to lead the troops.
With Mo gone, it is another addition by subtraction: Davidson wants every bit of cap space free possible. This helps with Ben Wallace and Chauncy Billups (Davidson is the consumate buisness man, he does NOT want to go too far over the cap). Also, Flip might be forced to develop players with more upside. Flip had a tendency to play Mo, ALOT. He was good, and was great with that pre-season 2nd unit, and he tried hard, REAL hard, but that didn't cut it. He was useless out there in the situation he was in. I wish Mo the best in LA. The only Pistons to leave the team and survive seem to be the ones that go to the Lakers: Atkins, Parker, and now, maybe, Mo.
