The Lakers traded their 2nd round pick, a 215 lb 7-0 Senegal guy playing in Spain, to the Pistons for Maurice Evans. Ouch!! He will help them. :(

Its funny, you read comments from a lot of Detroit fans and most of them absolutely hated Mo. I don't know what the hell happened with that whole thing.

DAMN YOU PISTONS.

I'm sorry Mo. My hate for the Lakers far exceeds my respect for you. Hope you give Kobe what's coming to him though

how is this a great move? he could jump over a house but that was about it... he couldnt create his own shot... how does he help the lakers playing behind kobe?

Better question than how the drafting Douby affects Bonzi here, is does this move show that Detroit is going to make a serious run at Bonzi???

If Detroit makes a serious run at Bonzi, how do they convince him to come off the bench? He's still got to believe that he is starting SG material in this league, but he's not going to supplant either Rip or Tayshaun.

My question is how is Mo Evans any different from Devean George (other than George's history of injuries)? Is Devean going to be a Laker next year as well?

^^^thats another thing....what about george and walton? they drafted farmar... eventhough they still have sasha and may resign parker.... kobe will play way to many minutes for evans to even be an issue....

George is gone... But drafting Farmar all but puts away the chances of them signing Caselle, because they'd have 4 PG's if they did, and none of which can play the 2 guard. So I'm thankful for that.

Why does Bonzi have to come off the bench? Tay going to the bench can only be a good thing. Its not who starts games, its who finishes them. And its not like they can't play together if nessacary.

I have said for a long time (granted, not on this forum) that Tay's place is on the bench BECAUSE he is so good. He needs rest. The best way to ENSURE that, and FORCE that is by having him come off the bench as a super-sub.

All that 'best starting five' garbage has to go. The Pistons won in 04 because from top to bottom, they were just about the deepest team assembled in the past 10 years, and had a good strategist (not tactician I am afraid) to lead the troops.

With Mo gone, it is another addition by subtraction: Davidson wants every bit of cap space free possible. This helps with Ben Wallace and Chauncy Billups (Davidson is the consumate buisness man, he does NOT want to go too far over the cap). Also, Flip might be forced to develop players with more upside. Flip had a tendency to play Mo, ALOT. He was good, and was great with that pre-season 2nd unit, and he tried hard, REAL hard, but that didn't cut it. He was useless out there in the situation he was in. I wish Mo the best in LA. The only Pistons to leave the team and survive seem to be the ones that go to the Lakers: Atkins, Parker, and now, maybe, Mo.

Banks for the MLE? I don't know about that. I have seen Banks play plenty, and he did look pretty solid in Minny, but I don't know about that.

I know we didn't have a 2nd round pick, but why couldn't we have done something like this? Detroit wasn't looking for much because they took a 2nd rounder for MO. Man I'm going to hate seeing him in a Lakers jersey.

Gotta hand it to you guys, yer loyal to a fault. I couldn't pick this cat out of a lineup if my life depended on it. What makes him anything special?
