Who will take a ride on the mud slide?

Dime Dropper

Every year, there is at least one guy projected to go in the lottery who just keeps sliding, sliding, and sliding some more. Who do you think it's gonne be this year? Or do you think that this is the year where all the "best" prospects will go in the top half of the lottery? This works for projected first rounders too. Usually there's a couple of unexpected prospects sitting there in the first half of the 2nd round.

In recent years we've seen guys like Blair, Young, Mills, Mullens (2009), Batum, Arthur, Jordan (2008) etc. etc. falling further than projected.

So, who are your picks?

I think Whiteside and Orton could fall way out of the lottery. Patrick Patterson is another guy whose a possibility, but I think if he's not picked up in the lottery, he'll be picked soon after. Solid player, but just lacks that upside.

Not necessarily saying who will fall to the 2nd round, rather just further than expected. I don't think Whiteside or Orton will fall to the 2nd, although I wouldn't be surprised. But I think they'll fall out of the lottery.

I think its entirely possible Wall slides to the Lakers at #58 as part of Stern/the Illuminati's worldwide conspiracy in favor of the yellow and gold.

I'm saying I think Orton will fall to the second round.

That would be very bad for us, since there is no way Johnson gets taken over him. Would eman #2/#3 went Cousins/Favors, and we are SOL.

The chances of turner slipping are practically zero; but i've got a feeling one of the so called locks might slip a place or 2.

i will lock myself in a darkened room for the rest of the week if we dont come away with Cousins or Favors.

If one of them is on the board and we take Munroe i've no idea what i'll do!

I'm going to take a stab at it and say Devin Ebanks because wings and undersized bigs are the prime free fall candidates. Plus, I don't get what's all the fuss is about him.

I also predict Derrick Caracter will go undrafted, but that may be much of a revelation.

And finally, Greg Monroe falls to the Jazz!

Ebanks will fall from what? He's been projected late first to mid 2nd for a while now.

Right now Orton looks like he's a candidate to fall a lot.

I think its possible that Aminu could slide. But I do think someone will take a flyer on him just for what he might bring defensively. My personal choice is Orton, unless he has a promise from some team. I also think that Udoh will go higher than people think.

That depends on which mock site you believe. He worked out for the Raptors two days ago and there are some who believe he'll go that high (Raptors has the #13 pick). Even late first, I think it's too high. He's a mid to late 2nd rounder imo.

I think it should be based on a consensus and most have him late first at the earliest.

Well then you're disqualified! ;)

Disqualified from making a prediction? :p

Anyway, every year all I do is following the prospects up to where the Kings is picking. I care very much who's going in the top 4 this year and then who will be available around #33. But that's pretty much it. I have a better idea who is going to be gone by which pick than the exact order they expected to be picked. :p
