I know you were the premiere Hayes jocker around here this winter, but that's done now. Hayes is clearly a move if you can, ignore if you can't player right now, and Jason is a MUCH more effective pairing up front. Given our league low salary there is no way you lose the one because you screwed up with the other.
And I know you've done everything to ignore any sort of positive contribution to a team that a player of his height can provide. It all comes down to how a player is used and as it is, both probably aren't going to be used right. What's done is done and the entire point is you can no longer pay for what you can possibly get out of someone, but rather what you can realistically get out of someone.
Still can't say what's better because there were times last year when Smart put Hayes on an Al Jefferson, Lemarcus Aldridge, or Blake Griffin and you saw precisely why Petrie signed Hayes. Just because a coach fails to realize the proper usage of a player doesn't scream to me that you write that player off unless that coach has no intention of following through with what worked. If Smart doesn't realize how to use a player like Hayes then it is imperative he be moved, I like Hayes playing backup C next to Donte Greene about as much as you do, but my gripe is with the guy who thinks that the right lineup to roll with, not the player. Smart started to use his passing ability much more effectively so that's a start.
League low salary with one probable max and a probable close to max player along with another potential top 5 pick waiting in the wings to get paid. That does come back to bite you if you've just tied up 10-12 million in backup bigs.
