Wow! But i actually can agree with them. Orlando did get the better half of the trade. Sorry but, christie i think is better than any two people that could replace him. Tough to judge without either player having played a single game (*obviously*), but I tend to disagree. As some have pointed out, one player on the floor playing defense the correct way does not help all that much with team defense, and DC, while being an excellent passer and having an excellent grasp of the team's offense, did detract from the Kings' ability to force opposing defenses to honor all five positions on the floor. From the five Kings' starters, I think DC would be the pretty obvious choice as the player opposing teams would want to take a shot. With Cuttino on the floor, the same thing cannot be said. I'm inclined to think that the Kings got the better of this trade. Petrie certainly factored in the effect this trade would have on the team from a mental standpoint, as well as an on-the-floor standpoint, and I don't think he would have pulled the trigger had he not thought that Cuttino could bring enough to the floor to overcome the loss of DC in the lockerroom. And maybe Petrie wanted to send a message to the other Kings on the team -- this is still about a championship. The Kings are not done with their run, the window isn't closed, and while acquiring Cuttino won't really help the Kings rebound better or defend the basket better (the team's two biggest weaknesses, imho), it will make them more potent offensively, and, presuming Cuttino can pick up on the offense by the postseason, a more dangerous team come playoff time.

Orlando made the trade to get Hedo more time -- a thought of addition by subtraction. I have trouble seeing how the pundits can trumpet Orlando as the winner of this trade considering that.

personally, i don't think that they got the bad end of the deal. i think they got the good end of the deal. and i haven't ever seen Cuttino or Bradley play before. who knows this could turn out to be a good trade. but right now as far as i can see, this isn't the best trade of all. yea, maybe the magic could've done better for maybe a player like Kobe. but i know that that would NEVER happen. they all have the strong points and their weak points. But who doesn't right? i guess we will find out when they play. whenever that will be. and does anyone know when they will play? do u think they will play tomorrow? if so how do u think they will do?

We did ... reasons .. we are paying Mobley less , he is younger , more athletic , can shoot and get to the rim ... and for people who havnt watched him play he is a VERY UNDERATED defensive player ... he doesnt alow people to get past him ... just look back last year rocket - lakers playoffs ... he was all over kobe .. kobe had good games but he couldnt get to the rim , all he took was jumpshots and that was the only way he could score ... i love Christie but he was getting beat on the D side alot this year .. missed alot of open shot and was cleary slowed down by his injury... it was a great move ..

I know this trade is pretty hard for Kings fans who just jumped on board a few years back, but take my word on it, Cuttino is the real deal, and will win you guys over before too long, actually it shouldnt take but about 2 weeks or so, his positive impact will be apparent almost immediately. He is a great team player, he goes along with whats best for the team, he's a deadly as hell shooter from anywhere on the floor, and he actually is an above average defender. Give it 2 weeks, then post your thoughts...trust me, I, along with alot of other basketball fans in general, have seen him play over the last few years and know how good he is, and is still becoming.

As much as I love DC, we got the better end of this trade by far. DC has several more years on a bloated contract, his latest injury has gotten the best of him, and he's playing subpar ball at best this season. He is definately reaching the tail-end of his career. Mobley is young, has great offense, above-average defense, and only has this season on contract. If he decides to leave, then we have a good chunk of change to play around with. And enough with the defense talks already. One man isn't going to turn us into a defensive powerhouse. With or without DC, we will still be near the bottom of the league in terms of defense.

Barring an injury to the four big men on our roster that receive playing time (*knocking on wood very, very loudly*), I doubt Bradley sees the floor except for severe mop up time or when CWebb sits out of games (hopefully that doesn't occur too often).
