i've been a fan since i was cognizant of basketball as an organized sport, but the kings of 01-03 were definitely the greatest thing i ever remember watching. they had a balance of offense and defense, they had an offense that killed, they had a legitimate superstar, and they had several up and coming stars (peja and bibby, when they cared about a title). webb, peja, and bibby did the bulk of the scoring, vlade and doug provided proper supporting roles, and the bench provided a spark in bobby jackson as well as a defensive punch.

in short, they were damn near perfect...

ya'll are lucky

For those that get to watch all or most of the kings games, you don't even understand how lucky you are. Don't ever take it for granted. I wish I could watch every game, even if it was a 40 point win or a 40 point loss. What I'm trying to say is that, no matter what decade, era, team, or whatever version of the kings you wanna call them, they should all capture your heart and soul. However, there are many, like myself, that have only been fans since 99'. So for me its pretty much 99' til now, but if I really had to choose an era from your list, I would choose the 01-03 kings. One word describes them: UNBELEIVABLE! But everyone one of the kings teams that I've seen over the past 7 or 8 years have given me chills every time I watch a game. I got faith in them that they'll turn it around this year. I haven't posted in a few days( I tried loging in a couple days ago, but the site was all messed up) and I haven't been around to read any of the posts lately from you guys. I'm guessing that the site was down during and after the knicks game( that's a good thing. I wouldn't have wanted to read the posts- would've been to brutal)...... Anyways, go KINGS!!!!

No team will be as special for me as the ones coached by Jerry Reynolds and Dick Motta. I remember driving home with my dad from a game as a youngster and saying, "Dad, do you think the Kings will EVER make the playoffs?" And my dad shook his head and said, "I don't know, son. I don't know."

Ya, those who get to watch all or most of the games are very lucky. I share your sentiment - I also wish I could catch every game, but I'll take what I can get.

As for the poll, my pick would be the 01-03 Kings. That team was the one that really got me hooked and they still always give me that magical nostalgic feeling every time I catch a rerun of the great games they played those seasons.
