People can act as though someone's attitude should be a certain way, but I think we all know that's much easier said than done.

At least Kenny is honest about it..and he's showed that he can perform at a higher level as a starter.

BawLa - It's not about KT's stats. It's about getting into the flow of the game, etc. He's doing it FOR the team. Most of this focus we tend to put on players is OUR emphasis, not theirs. They want to win more than they want individual glory on a losing team...

If he has an attitude about coming off the bench than I couldn't care less if he wasn't here after this year. KT didn't accept his role and his play showed at the start of the year. Just because he is doing well now starting does not mean anythign to me. Whether he came right out and said it, or silently objected his play certainl showed he was a crybaby when he came off the bench.

We're not saying we want to squeak into the 8th seed so much as we're saying we'd really love to see the Kings be able to salvage something from this season...

And most of us are FULLY aware of where our team stands.

Using your rationale, Chicago Cubs fans would have given up rooting for their team decades ago.

We're a team in transition. Anyone with access to radio, tv, print media, or jungle drums knows that.

That doesn't mean we can't hope for a "miracle" comeback.

ONE lottery pick isn't going to make this team better. We still have needs we have to address that won't be solved by one youngster, no matter who he is.

So, I'm going to continue to root for the team to win, not so much to get that 8th slot but because winning is infinitely better than losing.

I also do believe there is the same correlation, in baseball, if you squeak into the playoffs you have a real shot at winning something. There has been only 2 eight seeds in history that have ever done anything in the playoffs, Nuggets upset the sonics then bowed out, and the Knicks, who made the finals in a weak easter conference who was without MJ, and they got healthy at the right time. Obviously health is a concern here but we are not that good healthy.

The draft is also less important in LB than in NBA, you have a farm system to draw on, no salary cap which makes FA and trades much easier.

I still like to see this team win when I watch a game, but at the same time I am realistic to what needs to happen to be a championship contender and not just a playoff team.

Here's what I said:

What I said was in reference to having KT and having him start and not SAR. I don't see a big difference between those two players, so opting to go with the one player who is much more effective when he starts as the starter seems pretty logical, at least for the time being. SAR seems to be able to be effective off the bench, so why not utilize both of them in that manner?

The idea of starting a rookie over Ron Artest, on the other hand, is totally and completely different. I cannot imagine a scenario whereby starting Cisco over Artest would make any sense.

Gary - I agree KT's attitude leaves a lot to be desired. But, at this point in time, if you want to make a run for the 8th slot, you have to use each player in whatever manner gets the most out of them.

Those are, of course, just my opinions. Last time I looked, there wasn't a sign outside my door that says "Coach, Sacramento Kings"...
