Whatever it takes re-sign Mobley

I was just pondering a thought. For years we have loved Bobby Jackson. We have even thought of starting him at SG. Now Mobley gets bashed from time to time for doing exactly what BJ does SHOOT FIRST. Mobley is just like jackson in that he don't pass the ball much but, He shoots at a higher % and he can post up smaller guards. Where Bobby is the smaller guard. I say keep Mobley and extend him another 2 years.

I don't know if I was the GM I would resign Mobley, he is a good player, but is he the right guy? I'll leave this one up to GP. Its going to be an interesting summer for sure.

Sactown, if we let him go we don't have Bird rules to sign anyone else, he is definitely the only guy on the radar. Well, unless we can get Corey Maggette, according to Hoopshype, 1 guy has to go next year, Brand or Maggette, I'm guessing it's Corey.

its like this. We are already going to be looking for a solid PF. We don't want to be looking for a solid SG when we already got one. Mobley = Bobby J with better shooting and leaping ability. Not to mention another Clutch shooter. I can't wait for Mobley to have that last shot just to see what happens.

If one of them go we should get that 1. hehe ironic in the fact that those are the 2 positons that they actually have that are good and those same 2 positions are questions marks for us.

Mobley's been doing good the last TWO games, but I'm still not sold on him. I, too, will wait for GP to make that decision.

I was thinking sign and trade if we don't keep Mobley, but if he keeps playing the way he has, at least like in the 4th quarter, then I am sure the Maloofs will keep him around.

As much as I like Mobley's clutch play we need to go in another direction. We need more of a defensive SG then what Mobley is. I am sorry to say but Mobley is not a good defender and he is undersized to boot. Undersized anything is not a good thing when your team is one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA.

I thought about Brand a few times but I just don't see him leaving.

that worst rebounding tag has alot to do with our front court. Lets not go pinning that on the SG.

Yes but it still does not help. We need defense and rebounding from all of our positions and Mobley does not have either

Alek who is available that is either a FA that's a good defensive guy. Good defensive SGs are pretty hard to find. I can think of Bowen, Kobe, and Battier. Battier is really a 3 though. Honestly defensive 2s are pretty rare. PP is also prtety good and I don't see him coming here any more. So is Ginobili, he isn't going anywhere. Jones kinda old and overpaid. The list goes on and on of bad defensive SGs, atleast the ones available.

In that case i guess you want to get rid of Bibby as well. Now i am all for Mobley and Williamson for Artest. So don't think i am dead set against a trade.

We just need one who actually plays defense. Our backcourt is the worst defensive backcourt in the league and combined that with the worst rebounding SF in the game that is just asking for trouble.

I too really like Mobley, even though sometimes he has ball handling issues and looks lost at times,I believe hes now getting comfortable with all the "newness" of the KINGS since he came here, and is still improving.I like the fact that he leaves it all on the floor every night, and is ready to take that "game winning shot"...

Where did I say I want to get rid of Bibby? Quit putting words in my mouth. If you want to debate the arguement then do it. Do not come with this crap again.

Well we could get a defensive SF who is a little crazy for the one we got right now. He's made a huge difference in Indy's fortune's this year. But do you want to go in that direction. You also have to remember, we could fix 1 part and the team still wouldn't be set correctly.

I was going by you all our postions comment. those words are from you and last i checked Bibby was included in all our positions. Don't get so offended but Bibby has no defense or rebounding either. So why dis one and not the other.

Bibby does rebound pretty well for a PG actually, he's 3rd in the league of starting PGs in rebouding and really only trailing Franchise by alot with 1.5 less than him. Defensively Bibby is a problem, I wouldn't say rebounding is.

take your foot out of your mouth now that you see that yes you actually said that. And lets not get hostile in thinking i made it up.

I guess we should sign and trade for Hughes, but I'm thinking the Wizards or another team with more money could have something to say about that.

I haven't got to see much of Hughes play. I see his numbers in box scores but, i don't have any take on him of yet.

The reason is because Bibby ofcourse is way more important to the team. He is our defacto leader and Mr clutch player. He is one of the reasons why we need a defensive SG. Bibby is the last person I would get rid of from this team.
