what to do with Sheldon/Moore?

Kings have 5 PF's on the squad it does not make much sense to keep all of them however we are handcuffed with SAR and KT so where does that land sheldon and Moore?

Sheldon is the one on the bubble for sure. Moore is going nowhere until after next season it seems. He might be valuable off the bench behind Jason Thompson - that sure sounds great. Or Moore and Thompson might just end up splitting lots of time with Brad Miller and Spencer Hawes - nothing wrong with that. Sheldon is really going to have to earn his keep and maybe gone before any of the other 4. Plenty of other variables like trades, buyouts, retirement - although not looking likely.

You'd think Shelden would be the one to go, but who would take him?

Ideally, we'd want to trade him for some kind of temporary PG. The Free Agent market on PG's is awful this year, we're going to need to make a trade or tank for Ricky Rubio.

Until further notice, Moore is still our starter.

Thompson is immediately the back-up with the opportunity to play his way to more minutes (hopefully eventually earning the start over Moore)

Williams is the resident towel-waiver until he's shipped out or his contract expires.

SAR can wear a series of nice suits while sitting in his awesome seats just behind Kings Row.

K9 will have his desk moved to Arco's basement and his swingline stapler taken away.

I would think as a four year college guy Thommpson is about a ready to start as you can be. I would hope he steps in as the starter from day 1.

Maybe we can trade Williams/Mikki to Memphis for a PG(Lowry/Critt)+a contract? They have practically no PFs and like 50 guards.

lol, nice try but that ain't flying. They have a surplus of PG's, but that doesn't mean they're selling them off for nothing, which is what moore and williams are. They can get better deals, especially when PG's are at a premium right now.

didnt management or maloofs state that they want shelden to get playing time?

well its going to be divided into three in my opinion with moore thompson and shelden williams...

but im guessing moore will be a trading peice or something we have a few players we can move now..

i always thought moore would fit in well with the celtics .. plays with the same kind of passion as some of those guys and if pj brown retires along with scot pollard they could use a vet big man .. maybe we take scalabrine and gabe pruitt ( who i love ) for moore, douby and maybe a future second? idk.. havent looked at salaries just throwing things out there.. they could also use salmons/garcia if posey leaves..

Disagree. Shelden will never be a star, but he could be a solid role player if someone would give him time, which no one ever has. Same thing with a guy like Kyle Lowry. He's a bench guy on that team, so there's no harm in trading him for Shelden. I'd really like the Kings to find a way to get Mike Conley from Memphis, but I don't see it happening.

Yes, there is. Just because he plays on the bench for Memphis doesn't mean he's a bench player. I'm positive they could get MUCH more for Lowry than Shelden, and I'm positive they know they could too.

I'm hoping that SAR is healed and can actually play this year. There are 3 teams that we might be able to work a deal Bulls (Kirk/Duhon (sign and trade)), Griz (Lowry/Crittiton)and Bobcats (Felton). All want a low post player.

Lowry and Crittenton are the only one of those guys I'd be interested in, and there's no way the Grizzlies would be interested in SAR (unless we took Jaric off their hands, which isn't happening). It's going to be really difficult for Petrie to get a PG this offseason.

I think we could nab Hinrich. We have some pieces they could use.

Possibly. I could still be under-valuing him. Then again, it may take him a while to jump from the MAAC to the NBA.

I wouldn't mind getting either of those guys. I'm not sure I want Hinrich though. He has a terrible contract that rebuilding teams should not be interested in

SAR and KT dont factor into anything playing wise for the Kings, I really dont know why you guys are worried about them. They are basically just taking a roster spot for the future free agent market. At power forward we have Thompson, Moore, and Williams.

Moore is the starter for now. KT and SAR are unknowns. KT didn't play last year and for all practical purposes neither did SAR. If they can go somewhere I'm sure the Kings are working every possible angle.

First thing is to find out this summer and in training camp what is it Shelden can contribute. Thompson is the rookie but in summer and fall training camp we'll get a chance to see what he can do against the next level. Shelden I think is strictly a 4 whereas Jason played the 5 in college but may be more a 4 in NBA. Hawes is a 5 who can play the 4 as well. Brad being the incumbent 5.

So Brad/Hawes and maybe a bit of Jason at the 5
Then, Mikki/Shelden/Jason at the 4

On a 13 man roster nothing wrong with having 5 BIGS at the 4/5. Plus 2 PGs, 3 SG and 3 SF with Garcia being able to play 1, 2 or 3.

Don't forget a Ron Artest who can play whatever he wants ;)

When we were trading Bibby, I was interested in getting Hinrich if he was a good fit for this team. But the message the management is sending to the fans is that we’re trying to get under the cap and hoping for 2010. Kirk makes a lot of money and has several more years under contract, not really good for us at the moment...To those people who bash the guy, he had one bad year, that doesn’t make him a bad player and he can bounce back.

I think Sheldon will be traded, I really don’t see him with us past this year if he does stay after the deadline. I really don’t think we could get a pick for him, unless the guy becomes a beast. Mikki could be a energy back up (mostly for a playoff team) and since he has a team option he’s a more flexible piece (where have we heard that before. lol ;) )

It truly sucks that there aren't that many good pieces the Kings have to offer anyone. As for the Grizzlies, I honestly rank their management as bad as the Knicks. Trade Gasol for nothing and are stockpiled with 1st round PG (Conley, Crittenton, Mayo). There is no way they keep all three.

I wouldn't mind either Conley or Mayo.
