What really makes me mad

is the play of KT. What an incompetent fool! You have to be kidding me! He made himself worthless as a sub and all he claims to be is a starter... Newsflah KT, you aren't STARTER MATERIAL! I really hope he goes.

I think he doesn't want to be here anymore since he's not a starter anymore. I say get him outa here along with Peja.

Now all we have to do is find someone to take them...

...

...

Hmmmmmm. I think there must be an echo in here...

Hello?????

Hellooo?????

Funny, it seemed there were GMs here a minute ago. Where did they all disappear to?

Helllooooooooooo???

GP could alway Jedi Mind Trick Isiah Thomas into thinking he needs yet another undersized Forward, but the Knicks don't have anyone we'd want or need.

Or at least nobody available.

Of course between Thomas and Brown you ahve two of the biggest egos, and dumbest GMs, in the business, so you never know.

I remember Geoff had a thing for Jamal Crawford last year, and he might be available I think. I do not share the fascination, but he could be an answer to our bench scoring woes as a 6th man + is still young.

You really think he'd be coming off the bench ? That kid's got talent.

He's also a knucklehead, which is why I never understood why we, the ultimate Bball IQ snobs, were interested.

I was just assuming/answering the call for Kenny + whoever to be the bait to fetch him rather than one of the starters. As long as that was the case, don't think he could unseat Bibby, and I would hope he wouldn't unseat Bonzi unless we want to try the impossible and get even softer and weaker in the starting unit.

Has the right sort of game for a 6th man too -- combo guard who will put shots up. Lots of shots. Not always smart shots. Can make an impact, good or bad, in short periods of time. Just trying to guess at what Geoff was thinking when he was looking at him.

He is with the Knicks. Nate Robinson has seemingly ultimately taken his starting spot. Don't think he would come of the bench with us though.

It's been pretty good for him actually, being a big factor in scoring punch and having an impact on games. Like in Seattle, coming off the bench to score all 31 pts in 2nd half to win in a comeback. Improved his shot selection as well.

The problem with Thomas is he isn't really an 'energy' guy. Guys like Bobby, Hedo, Pollard, and Barry were guys who could come off the bench and provide a spark with their energy and hustle. Thomas dosen't really provide a spark which is why he's better as a starter. Also Thomas plays better when there is ball movement and passing and the guys who come off our bench seem to still be trying to learn our offense.

with the shortage of decent big men in the league, you'd think they could find some sucker to take thomas. i mean he isn't spectacular, but he is solid. maybe they could dump him for an energy guy like eduardo najera.

First, I don't think you can call Kenny Thomas a "big man" by any stretch of the imagination.

Second, didn't I read Eduardo Najera might be through? As in retiring?

yeah, i mean thomas is pretty small 'big man', but his position is primarily power forward. i have not heard that najera is retiring, but it would be great if they could get an energy/defender type like that. i really don't think a major overhaul of the team needed just some fat cutting and tweaking.

Is it possible that KT is just misfit in the Princeton O and consequently with this team/organization as a whole?

^^ yeah i dont know why everyone was so against mobley last year.. this site was filled with negativity towards his shot selection... but the guy came up with big shots for us and he would handle the point position sometimes and take pressure away from bibby.... i mean i guess bonzi's better(i love the guy), but who knows how good mobley could have been with us after a training camp... but then again, could we have afforded him had we not done any trades to clear up space?

If we had kept Cuttino, we wouldn't have room for Bonzi. All in all, I liked Cuttino but I'm really liking what Bonzi has brought to the table.

I kind of like Kenny - he's willing to go get the ball (unlike Peja). He'd be fine as a starter where he's the 5th best guy on the team. If some moves are made and Kenny stays, I'm fine with it. He's just a square peg in a round hole right now I think

I agree. Unfortunately, unless the Kings deal Bonzi midseason they may find themselves in a Cuttino-esque situation. Bonzi's probably going to want more than the MLE, the Kings don't have Bird rights... I really don't see how the Kings are going to be able to re-sign him.

And that really makes me mad.

Bonzi has been one of the few bright lights this season. One thing you can say about Adelman, he has a talent for taking in misfits and helping them become part of the team. Not sure if that would work with a true psycho, but the "troubled youth" types seem to work out well.

I'm really thinking Bonzi might be the one piece the Maloofs make sure they keep.

I thought if we let Peja walk we would have enough salary to re-sign Bonzi to a contract like Shareef's. I don't know, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the salary cap issues.
BTW, what part of Brooklyn do you live in man?:)

I hope so, but how?

I honestly don't have a clue. I am totally convinced, however, that this current group of players wearing Kings uniforms is going to change. So, if it does, I would like to see SOMEONE like Bonzi still on the court for us. He is what I like to refer to as the "warrior King." He puts it all out there every night.

So, in answer to how...I'm just using the old stand-by. "It will be magic."

;)

That's actually the first time I have heard that -- why/where did you hear we don't have Bird Rights with Bonzi? That's a signficantr problem if we don't.

^I think you may be right, the Kings do have Bird rights for Bonzi and thus could exceed the cap to re-sign him. I think I was confused by the Mobley situation last year. Could the Kings have theoretically signed him but opted not to go as high as the Clippers?

I really like the idea of Crawford coming off our bench, he could really be a Bobby Jackson type player on the offensive end.
