what do we do?

Oh boy I don't know. There are a few guys on the team this year that I think should stay.

Here's the thing. Its a gamble if you totally re-haul the lineup. You could be the Suns. Or you could be the Lakers. Bottom line is, something needs to be done. I don't think the Maloofs can afford to have the Kings be a lottery team next season with all the issues on their table. I still trust in Petrie to make the right decisions.

some big men who can board, a perimeter defender. all players should have HEART AND DESIRE TO WIN AT ALL COSTS ALL THE TIME. some balls would also be nice

this half ***** effort we've seen so far in the playoffs are pissing me off to no end.

I don't know...If I could play GM SLAB for a minute, here would be my plan.

-Absolutly nobady is safe from the axe. If someone calls and offers to take a long contract for expiring ones...Take it. I'm going into full on rebuild mode.

-Use the MLE for a physical, young player. Stromile Swift. Tyson Chandler. Reggie Evans...Or maybe even Danny F'n Fortson. He's a punk, and we all hate him, but he's exactly the thug type of player we need.

-Package a Corliss/Mobley or Corliss/Jackson for whatever we can get. Corliss has no future with the team, his style doesnt fit us. Jackson/Mobley are what sell the takers.

-I'm hoping Petrie has a pick waiting in the dark to suprise us all. Some Euro with huge skills that will eventually be really good. My thought? Go with Wayne Simien, if he falls. Or for the darkhorse in the second round. 7'9 Sun Ming Ming...(If he declared)

I dunno...I'd go into rebuilding mode. I'm not "Feeling" this team. I look foreward to the off-season overhaul.

It is WAY too early to start talking specifically about what needs to be done.

Our first decision has to be who is going to stay and be the cornerstone. The answer to that question might not be what people are hoping for.

As far as going into rebuildiing mode goes, look around. We're already there...

Just my opinion but that is way too drastic! We have some very good pieces. Jeeze we are not the friggin' Bobcats.

I think we are rebuilding on the fly and i think Petrie still thinks he keeps the main core (Bibby, Miller, and Pedja). What is left is trade bait IMHO.

Just my opinion but when they picked up Bobby's contract I immediately thought: PACKAGE DEAL. Dang, rebuilding sucks! Too emotional. If Bobby goes I'll miss him.

I think Petrie would trade any of them if the price was right.

Yes of corse if the price is right. But I do not think his game plan is to get other teams to offer sweet deals for them. I think he is first going to trade the other players to better the core we have. Now if someone is offering Kg or other players of that caliber I am sure that will get Petrie talking.

One more thing? Don't look for all our problems to be solved in one year. I'm predicting it will take a couple of years, at least, for Petrie to get the NEW team up to where he's already envisioning it. We didn't get all the pieces at the same time the first time around and we're not going to get them the second time, either. AND you have to figure in the GM factor - as in GMs that are very wary of even talking to Petrie on the phone.

ANY member of the team could go. Peja no longer has a free pass, IMHO.

Okay, I think Pete Carrill has a free pass. As long as Coachie wants that title, I'm reasonably sure it will be his... in perpetuity.

Speaking of which, having an offensive specialist as an assistant coach has definately done the team well over the years. Maybe picking up a defensive specialist too would be the most effective way of improving the team. (Oh yeah, and a physical big man and a perimeter defender/playmaker SG.)

Agreed on the defensive specialist, especially if he can instill some discipline in the Kings to never stop playing good defense - the sort who's not afraid to bench a player who just won't stay on his assigned player. Sometimes I wonder if the Kings don't have some sort of mass ADD that keeps them for playing solid defense for more than 10 minutes a night.

We need a power foraward in a hurry. its a shame how quickly our offense can be shut down. Next we need to send mobley away for good.

I thought Elson Turner was our defensive specialist
