What do kings fans think about this...

Sac gets: Rights to Rubio, Gomes, Atkins

Minny gets: Martin, Garcia

Sac would gain a ton of cap relief - a very talented prospect in Rubio (probably more willing to come to sac town than minny), and when paired with Tyreke would be a dynamic young backcourt - Gomes, who is a comparable player to Garcia, with a better contract.

Minny would resolve there point guard situation and add some much needed scoring and perimeter defense with Martin and Garcia

What do you think?:D

I think I would rather see the team in action before even thinking about any kinds of trades with the current crop.

I think we'd be getting hosed on that deal. We give up our best player for a rookie point guard that wont be here for 2 years minimum. We also just drafted a point guard. Nope.

hey, since rubio wont be coming over to the nba for a year or two, how about our 2011 1st round pick (top 3 protected) for the rights to rubio... its a win-win situation, rubio wont be playing anyways so neither team loses anything.

minny gets another draft pick and wont have to deal with the rubio drama for 2 years. the kings get rubio for 2011 season instead of a draft pick and we dont lose out on the john wall sweepstakes(previously know as the rubio sweepstakes).

it gives evans time to figure out what position that he will be playing and we avoid having to look for another pg if we have to trade martin to make room for evans at sg.

Not that its a big deal, but it was never the Rubio sweepstakes. It was the Blake Griffin Sweepstakes. Its now the John Wall Sweepstakes because hes currently the consensus #1 pick.

after the draft lottery it was the rubio sweepstakes... between memphis, okc and the kings. rubio wasnt supposed to fall to the 5th pick...

but thats not the point...

Why the heck are so many people on RR's bandwagon? GET OVER IT. He's not a star right now, and he probably won't ever do anything of note in the NBA. He also is, or already has, worked out a multi-year deal to stay in Spain.

Btw, what are you guys going to do with Kevin Love? Not really going to play him at center are you guys?
I believe the wolves will rotate Big Al and Ryan Hollins at center. But yeah there's no way Love can play center in this league. He would be a huge liability on defense. Hollins on the other hand showed potential as a good defensive center against duncan and the spurs last year in the playoffs.

I am a big time Rubio fan, and think he will eventually do better in the nba than most think he will. But.... this is a terrible trade idea. Why would we consider trading kevin, a proven nba sg, for someone who hasn't gone through an nba practice yet, and might not come over untill after the london olympics?

I've mentioned before I would have definitely considered moving Kevin for the keys to John Wall, but I see no way any team is going to offer a 20pt scorer for Rubio with all the uncertainty surrounding him right now. Well, maybe a Jamaal Crawford type or some such. And especially not after just passing on him in the draft. You trade Kevin for a high level star or potential superstar. But if we thought Rubio was really likely to be either we would almost surely have just drafted him.

If you threw in Love I would do it.. :) I love Love. Hw was my favorite college player a couple years ago and I was hoping the Kings would get a good enough pick to draft him.

the idea of drafting evans was to pair him with martin in the backcourt. We loose our best player and our leader for hype, gomes (who is solid) and trash. terrible deal.

Martin and Love in the starting five and Gary's a happy man. :D As you know, I was a big fan of Love's also...

Take Martin and Gomes out and you got a deal.

chance at wall or get rubio... HMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............

i'll take my chances w/ wall and any other prospect thats in that draft. we already picked up a guy named tyreke. i'm definitely not high on rubio anymore.

Ryan Hollins looks good. If he can bring that kind of effort every nite you guys have a keeper.

Thanks for the 411 TMNFan.

Oh yah... Definitely heh.. Other positions I would have to wing it, but if I had to go with something I would go with Hawes, Love, Nocioni, Martin, and Sessions.. Build on that..

giving up a 2011 1st rounder wouldnt interfere with being in the john wall sweepstakes...

Will not do for me.:p

But if it is Hawes, Thompson, Nocioni, Evans, and Rubio.....or Hawes, Thompson, Love, Evans, and Rubio - I'll go for it. :D
