Im watching / listening to this now, and Westphal seems like a likeable guy. It SOUNDS like he doesnt have an ego, which is refreshing .. the one downside is, on the surface, he seems a little soft, and I still fear he has been away from being this close to the game for too long.
All in all though, its a press conference, and you cant take a whole lot out of it.

The sound wasn't there at first, but then it got going. Took a late lunch to watch it.
Seemed likable. I liked that he felt he didn't need to and shouldn't answer all questions. He clearly thinks, like Adelman, that some things should be kept behind closed doors. Yay! (Hopefully it actually turns out that way.)
He was tactful, but seemed pretty open on most things. I'll be interested to see what he's like on the sidelines. I liked much of what he said, but it's the beginning of the honeymoon period, of course.
BTW, I wonder how Joe's health has been. He looked tired, older and a bit gaunt to me.

Well, what I managed to hear was all good. But then why wouldn't it be. Its a new beginning, again! Lets hope the seeds sprout this time and something grows out of it. At least he seems to know what he's gotten himself into and seems to relish it. I agree that Joe looked like a shell of his former self. He must be having a tough go of it. Gavin's eyes betray what he saying sometimes. I hope he doesn't play poker at any casino but his own.
I finally had to turn it off as it became unwatchable. Too bad. Maybe they'll supply video of the conference at a later date.
