Welcome to the Sacramento Kings. Play your heart out for us and you'll win ours. You may have to prove yourself to some who were hoping for someone else in the draft, but if you're half the player some people think you are you should be able to do it with no problem.

Our favorite Michigan product has his jersey in the rafters so you've got some big shoes to fill.

GO KINGS!!!

the video i posted is just about everything you need to know about Nik. He is the type of teammate that everybody wants. He's going to make these guys better when he's on the floor and even when he's not.

Glad to have you aboard. Its nice too see a Canadian on The Kings. He grew up really close to my hometown. Goodluck kid.

Probably my favorite Stauskas moment: We were @ Illinois and their student section was chanting "USA USA USA" every time he touched the ball. It was actually a rather annoying habit whenever Michigan was on the road. Classless fans, but whatever. End of the half, Stauskas gets the ball and shoots a looooong 3 as they continued their chant. He made it look like a routine shot and hit nothing but net. As he headed back up court, he turned, looked at the Illini student section and had this look on his face that said everything without actually saying anything. Loved it.

Thanks for sharing the video clip, Monster. Gotta admit. I like his jumper. :)

I wasn't sure about the pick (especially with Vonleh on the board) but I loved what he said in his interview "Michigan players, we play hard with a bit of a chip on our shoulder." Sounds like a King already.

If the Kings played with a "chip" on there shoulder they would actually play defence and win more than 28 games.

If he plays with the same heart and passion as the Wolverine whose jersey hangs in the rafters, I'll be very happy.

I have a feeling we're going to be putting Nik at the 1 spot, especially in summer league. Seems like he has handles and he's continuously working on it. It'll be an interesting project.. but maybe, just maybe, Nik and Ben can line up next to each other.

My homerism needs to kick in eventually ;)

LOl... Not a fan of this kid till I see him play in the NBA. He matches up well with most starting 2 guards in the NBA but we all know the NBA is not college.

Nik Stauskas vs. 2s drafted this year.
@MSU (Gary Harris): 19pts/4rbs/2ast
vs. MSU (Gary Harris): 25pts/3rbs/5ast
vs. MSU (Gary Harris): 17pts/2rbs/1ast
vs. Kentucky (James Young): 24pts/1rbs/3ast

Gary Harris is considered an elite defender. I can't speak for James Young. He went up against the best teams in the country (MSU, Indiana, Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc.) and dominated. Defenses were designed to stop him and he still averaged nearly 18 per game shooting a very high percentage for a 2. At the very least he'll knock down a couple threes every game with a few mid-range shots mixed in. Even more important than him making the shots is the threat he poses. Just being on the court makes team stretch out their defense. He and DMC/Rudy should be able to feed off of each other.

We selected a hard worker... And also a guy who has the cold, far away stare of a crazy person... ;)
