Welcome to the Kings, Sergei!

From what I remember, this guy was pretty highly regarded but on draft night he lasted until #23 because of concerns about his contract and when/if he'd ever come over. Not that draft position is that great of an indicator, but the general consensus was that he was going in the top 15 and I seem to remember rumors that the Jazz were hot for him at #14.

If the word on him is that he's got good size, is an aggressive and dedicated defender and a good athlete then I think we're going to like the kid.

Indeed.

Please warn a person before posting cheesy shirtless pictures.

That made me laugh so hard I almost choked.
I dont know, im sure most people got used to them after that infamous Peja Shirtless picture that was around for a long while :D

I really like this deal. I will miss Skinner, but we get a young guy that has range, athleticism, and length. Good deal.

And the winner of the Al Bundy Memorial Award is...

Sergei Monia.

...

That's just so special.

::Insert vomiting emoticon here::

But you know he's tough beans. He's got a silver skull on his chain and everything...

I may not survive this.

And G3 - sorry for quoting you but I couldn't quote that picture. No way, no how.

We would undoubtedly like anyone with all those qualities.

i think this move puts jason hart perminantly out of the rotation.

lineup:

1: Bibby/Garcia/Hart/Price
2.Wells/Martin/Garcia/Price
3.Artest/Monia/Garcia/SAR
4.Thomas/SAR/Artest/Williamson
5.Miller/SAR/Potapenko

Doubt Monia is considered ready for that with us making "a playoff push"...in theory. He could even end up on the inactive list, but certainly don't see him as part of the rotation until hesettles in and proves himself in a few games.

I'd say Brick is probably right.
I know for a fact that Brick is right on this one. No way they throw an unproven rook(that's not going to prove a whole hell of alot more this year, IMO.) The rotation is only 8 deep, with Martin, Reef and Cisco coming off the bench. Injuries withstanding, dont expect anything earth shattering to change that, even if we fall farther out of playoff contention as the season wears on.(HOPEFULLY this doesnt happen, of course)

Since we got Sergei Monya is there any chance we will sign Bonzi in the off season. I can see management letting him go like they did Cat I see no other reason why they got another swing man otherwise?

Well, insurance of course because we have for the second year in a row now taken our fate out of our own hands and put it in the player's -- Bonzi can walk if he wants to, and not a thing we can do about it.

But also, it doesn't have to have much to do with Bonzi. Just moving one unused asset for another and a young kid. And if the kid plays a position where we have guys, who cares? Gives us more flexibility in the future, and if he shows somethign you can always trade Bonzi, or even Kevin or Garcia for the right deal. Think it basically had far mroe to do with Skinner basically having little value to us since we did not play him.
