Unfortunately there are some good reasons to negotiate a bit with the Maloofs. The Ranadive offer is set at the $515 value, if the NBA essentially forces the Maloofs to accept it, then they have about a $65 million loss. Strong incentive to sue after the deal. So some deal to sweeten the pot to get the Maloofs to not only sign off on the deal but sign a second legal waiver this one specific to this deal.
That would be extremely unfortunate. The Maloofs, knowing that Vivek needs to sign a GM and a coach, could then string things out for a long, long time, hoping to get Vivek to kick in more $ to just get them to go away. Stern needs to shut this down now and tell the Maloofs that if they don't sign pronto they'll call the $150 million loan and take the team under the best interest of the league clause. Otherwise, we're looking at the next episode of craziness.
I follow CD and Crown Downtown on twitter but don't have a twitter account. It's just as easy if you don't mind having a couple of windows open.

The deep breath before the plunge...
While waiting on this announcement. What is everybodys plan after we hear that the kings are staying put?
They will sponsor the arena and call it the Nut House.
