we needed skinners shot blocking

i agree. would have been nice to see skinner and/or o-tag in there. some diff looks. although skinner has not been very effective in this series i have also said he should have been out there. the sonics made it look too easy. way too easy. this is the play-offs guys, should make guys pay for taking it to the basket. its the kings limitations that have guaranteed an early offseason.

Did he played even a minute last night?I was wondering where is that guy who was integral part of the team in the second part of the season. He should have about 10-15 minutes!

I would love to see Miller and Skinner at the same time.
I would love to see the Kings play some hard-nosed defense in general. It gets old hearing the same thing, "Kings are soft, they have no defense."

While I acknowledge it's true, I really want a Kings team who makes it very difficult to score.

Skinner has been getting eaten alive by James and has been ineffective on offense. I'd much rather see Tag get another chance. This is just sad, it kills me to see him sit on the bench, remembering what he did for us in Game 1. Tag gives us crucial basket protection, offensive rebounds, and six good fouls, but he doesn't play. I would go so far as to say Tag is the key to us winning this series. Make fun of that statement is you wish, but matchups are key in basketball.

Seattle's big strengths against us are: 1) Ray Allen. 2) James, Fortson, Evans, & Collison owning the paint. Tag does what they do, only better. And don't start going off about how much better offensively James is than Tag. He's not. His career average is what, 5 PPG? I seem to recall another playoff series against a certain team from Utah in which a big oafish non-offensive center had career numbers against us. Gee, could there be a pattern here?

I hope Rick plays Tag before the end, if only to prove the Tag supporters wrong. It's not like he has anything to lose at this point.

I think Skinner would do a good job on Evan and have Miller cover James. We could use Skinner as weak side help. Actually I would like to see this as our starting lineup.

You're all focusing on Skinner as he was before he jammed both thumbs. He hasn't really done much of anything since then. I strongly suspect there's a good reason he isn't getting much time - and it's most likely related to the lingering effects of trying to pummel both thumbs into his palms.

skinner is a quick jumper. some of you can't sit here and say that allen woudlve had that many layups if skinner was in the game. and james was on the bench when allen was doing most of this. if james is out the game then put in skinner.

This whole JJ revolution got started when he worked Skinner over in Game 1 -- just too small. Brian might be able to give us a little boost with team interior defense -- blocking the shots of little guys driving or whatnot, but JJ just ignores him. Ignores everybody in a Kings uni actually.

My goodness.

Everyone, together now, say it with me slowly:

Ray Allen was playing out of his frickin' gourd on Sunday. Taking away just his layups would NOT have changed anything.

it might have. he got at least 5 shots at point blank range. which accounts for at least 10 points.

I agree that Tag definately should've played more in the last few games, especially after how effective he was in game 1. However, James has scored at least 15 pts three times against the Kings, that's a feat I don't thing Tag can accomplish.

He'd have gotten his 45 some other way. He was that good.
and he was THAT good. i love ray allen, but our defense was horrendous. rex chapman was even going nuts at how easy it was for allen to score inside or outside the paint. didn't you watch the game? you heard the commentary!! rex chapman kept saying "SOMEONE PUT ALLEN ON HIS BUTT, THIS IS THE PLAYOFFS FOR GOODNESS SAKES".

Isn't Brian 6'9'' and not even PF size in the WC? Yet, because of injuries he's been used out of position at Center and people's perceptions of him and his game are based on his matchup with JJ and other Centers. Brian should be in there when we have two other scoring bigs on the floor...assuming he's healthy because in addition to his thumbs didn't he leave a game last week with a rolled ankle? He, Tag and Evans should have played some once our starters got the big lead to keep Seattle from getting off. But since RA is offensive minded he thinks "outscore" first and "prevent score" second.

I would love to see Skinner start at the PF and Brad at the Center spot. Brian would bring a little more D to the inside then what Kenny can provide.
